May You Find Me

Yet you wash away those walls, Like a flood claiming ground again, You become my hiding place, And my broken heart you mend.

May you find me where the wind blows,
Through the canopy of the trees,
And where my feet walk the grounds,
The grounds prepared for me.

In the garden, Where the richest soil,
Is as black as the night.
I’ll be cultivating life,
Where the world is made alright.

Take me back to the beginning,
Where you started all these works,
Making my hands just for his,
The hands you made from dirt

What did you have in mind,
As you made this place our own,
Show me your hidden heart O God,
Before our hearts were turned to stone.

What is that you put in Eve?
The beauty in her ways.
The grace, love, and compassion…
Return to me today.

And Adam, my dear lover…
You made him just like you,
A man in your very image,
Your reflection through and through.

Sometimes I strain to see your image,
As I look upon this earth,
Struggling to find Eves heart in me,
Struggling with my worth.

Walls and barriers, hardened grace,
All guards against abuse,
Hide the broken heart of this little girl,
Still searching for your truth.

Yet you wash away those walls,
Like a flood claiming ground again,
You become my hiding place,
And my broken heart you mend.

You return me to your garden,
Where you speak and walk with me…
You till my heart in the hiding place,
You restore her grace in me.

And what of this lover?
Can you make it clear to see?
Is he safe? Is true?
And will love he the Eve in me?

I will wait upon your image,
Like I wait upon a seed.
In due time, as I trust in you,
Life will spring Forth as you decree.

Yes I know this is your season…
That you will do a work in me…
Return me to the Heart of Eden,
Where my heart and soul are free.
