Let’s Talk About Legalism

The Church right now looks a lot like the churches in the New Testament that needed rebuke and correction.

It’s not legalistic to say we need to follow His commands. And yes, He still has some commands. The first is the same as it was all the way back…love Him.

I don’t know how you treat the ones you love, but He deserves your best. If your life is centered around Him, you are anchored regardless of what comes your way.

Don’t let Satan convince you grace stamped out every command of God. There are still rules and boundaries established for your sake.

Imagine if you had an army and none of the soldiers followed the command of the leader. It would be utter chaos and confusion. And my guess, they would lose the battle.

Ahem…look around and see what is going on in the world. People have fallen under the trance of “me” first…doing what they want and when they want….including those in the body of Christ.

As a result, there is confusion within the Church. When we have young adults and teens who know the Church is a mess and don’t know who to trust or believe, we’ve clearly messed it up.

Loving God leads you closer to Him. You’ll hear His voice more clearly. You’ll understand His ways more clearly and why they are important.

The Church right now looks a lot like the churches in the New Testament that needed rebuke and correction. We look at those books and letters and think, “Of course, they were completely off the mark.” We see it because we see it from a distance. What we need are eyes to see what is taking place now and the changes we need to make for the sake of His bride. Would we receive a letter like the ones Paul wrote with humility and repentance or would we continue to spiral? My prayer is the former and not the latter.
