Leave an Impression, Not Just a Footprint

If we are content being unseen, then the impression being left are His footprints, not ours.

What type of impressions are we leaving?  Is there a difference between a footprint and an impression?

Webster’s Dictionary defined a footprint as an “impression left.”  It’s important that we leave an impression, not just any type of footprint.

When God led His people out of Egypt, out of bondage, the Psalmist said:  “Your way was through the sea, Your path through the great waters; yet your footprints were unseen.  You led your people like a flock by the hand of Moses and Aaron.  Psalm 77: 19

When the water along the shoreline washes over a footprint, it becomes unseen, but an impression was still made.

If we need the impression to always be seen, then we may need to ask ourselves, “Who are we wanting to impress?

If we are content being unseen, then the impression being left are His footprints, not ours.

Too deep?  Look at the scripture above.  It was His way and His path through that left the footprints that were unseen.  It was His leading His flock through another’s hands, Moses and Aaron.

Yes, we are the hands and feet of God as we are walking in His footsteps, not our own.  The impression we leave with others, will be able to tell whose footprints were left, ours or His?

Leave lasting impressions!  Even if they are washed over, they will be remembered, not seen.
