Jesus is in Your Boat!

God doesn’t just want us to be overcomers in our situations, but to give us dominion and complete lordship over them.

One of the most profound things that I ever saw Jesus do in scripture, was when He was aboard the boat with His disciples and a violent storm arose. While His disciples were fighting to keep their little boat afloat, Jesus is hanging out in the stern of the ship sleeping. When the storm appears to become more than they can handle they awaken Him with desperation and say, “DON’T YOU CARE THAT WE ARE PERISHING?” With that, He awakens and silences the storm and the sea.

And a furious storm of wind [of hurricane proportions] arose, and the waves kept beating into the boat so that it was already becoming filled. But He [Himself] was in the stern [of the boat], asleep on the [leather] cushion; and they awoke Him and said to Him, Master, do You not care that we are perishing? And He arose and rebuked the wind and said to the sea, Hush now! Be still (muzzled)! And the wind ceased and there was [immediately] a great calm (a perfect peacefulness).” Mark 4:37-39

How many times has it seemed like the storms in our lives are prepared to sink us, they become more than we can handle, and we find ourselves running to Jesus in the midst of it and ask Him, “LORD DON’T YOU CARE?”

For some of us, it never seems that (during those times) He is quite in control of the situation to us and even like He may be asleep while we’re going through these nightmarish situations, but the reality is that He is always in a constant place and position of dominion at all times.

What Jesus portrayed in this passage was more than just His authority over the circumstances, but also the knowledge that He had total dominion over the situation at that moment. He didn’t skip a beat when He arose on their behalf and told the winds and the waves to shut up. He knew He had total control of what He was confronting.

What we need to understand is that in our circumstances God doesn’t want us to just achieve a place of authority, but a place of dominion over our situation. Real authority begins to manifest from a position of Perfect Peace!

Jesus was in a state of Perfect Peace even in the midst of the storm, so much so that, He was asleep until called upon by His disciples, and as He immediately went into action on their behalf and then from the Place of Peace He silenced the Sea, the Waves, and the Storm completely!

So what do we do when the Storms of this Life Arise against us? Do we panic and scramble around in fear in an attempt to salvage what we can of our situation? Or do we Stand up upon the Bow of the Shop of our life, TAKE AUTHORITY OVER THE WAVES, THE SEA, AND THE STORM from that place of Perfect Peace?

You will guard him and keep him in PERFECT and constant PEACE WHOSE MIND [both its inclination and its character] IS STAYED ON YOU, because he commits himself to You, leans on You, and hopes confidently in You.” Isaiah 26:3

God doesn’t just want us to be overcomers in our situations, but to give us dominion and complete lordship over them. Realize that Jesus is in that boat of your life this morning, even if it appears that He’s asleep, you need to realize that He still has all authority and dominion over it.

As we call upon Him in the midst of our situation we should expect the circumstances to change and shift as His Powerful Peace continues to Manifest through us in spite of the situation we’re in! From that place, you’ll get to watch, as the impossible becomes possible, for as He alters the parameters of your situation, it’ll bring not only a fresh revelation of Him but also an understanding of His Dominion in your life through it.

It’s time to rise up Sons and Daughters to become what God has made you to be. You’re never alone in the boat of your life, even with the storms all around you, He’s right there with you in the middle of it.

ALLOW HIS PERFECT PEACE TO RISE UPON YOU, STAND UP UPON THE BOW OF THE SHIP OF YOUR LIFE AND COMMAND THE STORMS TO GO IN JESUS MIGHTY NAME, FOR THE SAME JESUS WHO SILENCED THEIR STORMS LIVES INSIDE OF YOU!
