Irresistible

The Lord wants to reignite the passion and fire of your first love in this season so that He can use you to impact others for the Kingdom of God.

Recently in a time of prayer, just seeking the Lord, I heard this in my spirit, “Tell them I’m irresistible.” I just kind of laughed as I heard this from the Lord because I had never really thought about God in that way. Irresistible means to have a quality that draws something or someone to itself. Irresistible means to be hard to resist because of its attractiveness. As I continued to pray and meditate on this word, I really felt like the Lord was saying that when we truly encounter God, we are attracted to and drawn toward Him to be in that secret place with Him.

Matthew 6:6 says, “But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.” This is exactly what we are called to as the people of God, to be found in the secret place, falling more in love with the presence of God every day. Since the very early days of my walk with God, I have been drawn to the place of prayer and based my life out of that secret place of prayer. I have found that no matter what else is going on around me or in my life that the more I die to myself daily, the more attractive the things of God become to me.

When we are drawn to the things of God, we mature past just being a good Christian and move into a place with the Lord where we find Him and His ways irresistible. I recently came across a passage of scripture that fired me up in such a way that I called my wife, Autumn, and just had to immediately share it with her. I was in the Word of God as just part of my daily disciplines, and then I was reignited by this fresh revelation from scripture. Spending that time every day in the Word has become irresistible to me. I draw my strength and my fire from that time in the Word of God.

If you can go a day without having that time in prayer, something is wrong. The more you walk with God, the more irresistible His presence should become to you. To truly step into everything God has called you to do and who He has called you to be, you need a burning passion down in your spirit that changes everything. I love a good revival service or prayer meeting; I really do. However, there is nothing that can replace my private time with God, where it is just Him, me, the Word, and a cup of coffee!

John 12:32 says, “And I, if I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all peoples to Myself.” The Holy Spirit draws people to Jesus. When we lift God up to His rightful place in our lives as King and Lord, then our life will imminent that magnetic force that is the presence of God. It is the goodness of God that draws us to repentance and to Himself. Our lives should overflow with that so that whenever people encounter us, there are encountering the irresistible power and presence of God. The raw power and presence of God is irresistible. Even the most lost or mixed-up person cannot resist the presence of the Lord if they truly encounter Him. We are meant to be carriers of that irresistible God if we are His sons and daughters.

So in this season, the Lord is calling each of us into a deep place of personal devotion. The Lord wants to reignite the passion and fire of your first love in this season so that He can use you to impact others for the Kingdom of God. Be intentional in this season, set aside that extra time every single day to really get before the Lord, dig into His Word, and allow the Holy Spirit to draw you deeper into all that He has for you. Every day of your life, ask the Lord to give you a burning desire that will draw you to the things of God. Be careful not to allow the things of this world and the distractions of the enemy to keep you from that personal place of private prayer with God, especially in this season!
