Jesus is talking to His friends warning them to “Be on your guard.” He goes on to say following the distress, “The sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from the sky, and the heavenly bodies will be shaken.” (Mark 13: 24-25)
That’s a pretty dark place and time. “At that time men will see the Son of Man coming in the clouds with great power and glory.” (Mark 13: 26)
His glory will light up the sky! What happens next? Jesus told us, “Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will never pass away.” (Mark 13: 3) It’s important to know His Word. Everything He proclaimed will come to pass!
When will this happen? The day and the hour is unknown. Keep watch and be on guard.
If we know the Father and Son, we don’t need to know the hour. Only God the Father knows the hour. We need to know Him, through the Son, (Jesus), for they are one.

“The days of punishment are coming, the days of reckoning are at hand.” (Hosea 9: 7)
The cry of God’s heart is the same it’s always been: “Return to Me, come to me, or follow me.”
- It’s not about me, it’s about Him.
Here’s what brings punishment that Hosea the prophet was addressing: “Your sins are so many and your hostility so great.
They have sunk deep into corruption.” (Hosea 9: 7, 9)
- Addressing sin, hostility, and corruption will bring us back to Him.
How do we address it? Acknowledge our sin, repent, and turn away from it.
I am so thankful for Jesus, to turn to Him is to return to the Father, for they are one! Let the Holy Spirit continually lead and guide us there.
- The power of the cross was once and for all.
- It’s our continual leading of the Holy Spirit that keeps us there.
Keeps us where? In the place of continual recognition of our sin and how much we need Him. Our continually seeking and confessing keep us closer and closer. He desires relationship. He paid it all. I don’t have to keep trying to be good, just surrender and be good through Him as I keep looking to Him. (Shared from Hosea 9: 1-16, Modified)
God has been constructing a palace for us, just as Solomon built His palace, his home. Our palace is our heavenly home with all the furnishings we will need for life, forever.
When Solomon was finished building, “He brought in the things his father David had dedicated–the silver, gold and the furnishings–and he placed them in the treasuries of the Lord’s temple.” (1 Kings 7: 51)
- Our Father is dedicated to us and for us, to be placed in our heavenly home, as His treasured possession.
- We are the treasury of His temple. Glory!
“For you are a people holy to the Lord your God. The Lord your God has chosen you to be a people for his treasured possession, out of all the peoples who are on the face of the earth.” (Deuteronomy 7: 6)
Does God see us as a treasure? Yes, His treasure, the treasury of Heaven!
It’s time to treasure these things in our hearts!
