HOPE RISING: An Online Worship Event

Posted on

Candace Cameron Bure will have a “Full House” this Sunday, virtually hosting a large group of global Christian influencers to fight the good fight of faith against COVID-19. Together with her brother, Kirk Cameron, the two Cameron actors are uniting with a broadcast of Christian musicians and speakers like For King and Country, Casting Crowns, Lysa Tyrkeust, MercyMe, and Bishop T.D. Jakes to bring hope and financial relief to those affected by COVID-19.

Hope Rising, the event’s official title, aims to do what its name decrees: raise hope “united through music and message.” Though cities have likely hosted stadium conferences with similar missions, Facebook will experience something it’s never seen before as the Christian community gathers live on April 19th, 8 p.m. EST.

Other artists and speakers gathering for Sunday’s lineup include Newsboys, Dani & Dannah, Sanctus Real, Gloria Gaynor, Matthew West, Mike Donehey, Matt and Bowen Hammitt, Natalie Grant, Priscilla Shyer, Danny Gokey, and Ryan Stevenson. Kari Jobe and Cody Carnes are also expected with a special performance of their new song, “The Blessing,” and Kirk Franklin will be leading worship with some of his award-winning music.

With such a heavy-hitter lineup, you’d expect this event to also require a heavy-hitting budget. But Ryan Higgins, creator of Hope Rising, shared with Kingdom Winds directly that all of Sunday’s participants are joining pro bono. “I knew I wanted everyone to do it for free. That’s a HUGE ask! The faith community came together and we pulled it off.”

Facebook users have likely seen other marketed events with high-profiled influencers, but Hope Rising is partnering intentionally with Samaritan’s Purse, a nondenominational, evangelical Christian organization dedicated to providing spiritual and physical relief to all those suffering.

“We have a very high-quality event, much greater than regular network broadcast events, and I have spent $0,” Higgins continued. “All in all, this would have been about a $500,000 event, and since we did it for free, 100% of every penny raised is going directly to Samaritan’s Purse. We are so excited to share this amazing night with the world!”
