Here Comes the Boxhead Prophets and the Glory of God

Their mantra will be, “He must become greater and I must become less.”

I believe that the Lord is releasing prophets and prophetic voices who are box heads.

Here is what I mean by this…God is sick of the dog and pony show and the parade of the prophetic. He is releasing men and women like William Seymour who during the Azusa street revival would put his head inside of a box and pray as the service went on. Because it wasn’t about him. The greatness of the power and glory that was being released was not about him. It was about the face of God. So he covered his own face refusing to receive the glory for himself for he knew it was a move of God.

God can use any nameless, faceless person to steward the glory of God if they will lower themselves in humility before him. So here come the box head prophets, the ones who are willing to hide their face, just as Moses hid his face under the veil.

You see it wasn’t about William Seymour. It wasn’t about him. God was releasing a new move of the Holy Spirit. He was releasing the gift of tongues and the baptism of the Holy Spirit back into the church. He was releasing the fivefold ministry back into the church. And though God used Williams Seymour as a catalyst and one who gathered the people together, it wasn’t about him.

God is releasing the box head prophets. These are some of the ones who will usher in the weight of the glory of God and the greater manifestation of what we have been looking forward to. But these are not going to be people who wear shiny suits and parade themselves around on stages. These are going to be humble, laid down lovers of Jesus Christ who will decree “It is not about me”. Their mantra will be, “He must become greater and I must become less.”

THE GLORIOUS MOVE OF GOD

I say to you…there WILL be a great move of God, but it is not going to come through a dog and pony show, through glitter, or through any kind of self-promotion. It is going to come to the ones gathered whose heads are bowed low.

Much of this movement will begin in homes. It is going to come to the repentant. It is going to come to the poor in spirit. It is going to come to those who are brokenhearted over the wickedness in the land and broken over those who are hurting. It is going to come to the spiritually hungry. It is going to come to those who are laid low. It is going to those of no repute. And it will be ushered in through vessels who are willing to cover their faces, to humble themselves, to be of no name, of no reputation, to those whose hearts say, “He must increase and I must decrease.” Only these will be the ones on whom God’s glory dwells.

For it is in the gathering place of the humble and contrite of heart where the fire of God will burn on the roof of the house and the glory of God will be in the midst of them. These will not take center stage, but they will take a backseat in what the Lord is doing. The fear of the Lord will grip them.

Those who host the move of the glory of God will be the ones as in the book of Ezekiel chapter 9 who wept, groaned, and interceded over the wickedness of their generation. They will not partner with the detestable sins being committed.  They weep over them. These were the ones in Ezekiel upon whom the man clothed in linen went out and placed a mark on their foreheads.  These marked ones will carry the weighty move of the glory of God. These are the consecrated ones who will not bow to idols, who will not bow to Baal, who refuse to live in compromise, who separate themselves from the world.

For there is a clear distinction coming, and God knows those who are His.

HE WHO COMFORTS YOU

Over these past days, I have been feeling the Father’s heart for those who grieve. Last week, in a dream, I saw a woman sorting through the clothing of a loved one who had passed. She was making the agonizing decision between what to keep and what to part with. Each article of clothing brought a flood of memories and still held his lingering scent.

I watched as one by one people walked past her–preoccupied. Not one looked her way. No one noticed the tears she was fighting back. Then I, a stranger, approached her. Immediately, she put on the “I’m OK” face. I looked into her pain-filled eyes. “May I give you a hug?” I asked. She nodded guardedly. Yet, when my arms wrapped around her, she collapsed into them. With gut-wrenching sobs, she clung to me soaking my shoulder with her tears.

My heart has been deeply moved to pray over those who are mourning. Perhaps you haven’t lost a loved one, but you have sustained loss in this past season. You are walking through the valley of the shadow of death. You are in a season of grieving what was and now isn’t any longer. Even I am sensing some of you have experienced the death of a dream or an expectation of how things would be. God’s heart is tender with compassion for you.  As I sat with our Father, He began to speak these words of comfort for you…

I’VE GOT YOU

“I see that you are trying to hold it all together and be strong. I want you to know that I’ve got you in My arms, and I’m not letting you go. I’m holding you tight to My chest. Sink in and rest. I will be strong for you where you are weak and exhausted.

I know you have questions. I can handle your ‘whys’. Only come to Me. Let Me bear your pain, your grief, and heartache. I am well acquainted with sorrow, and I’m not going to let you go through this alone. I know this loss feels like it is tearing you up inside, and your grief is more than you can bear. Lean into Me and let My healing presence do its work deep in your soul. I love you, My child. I love you.

Stay close to Me and we will come through this together. I am sending help. I know that you feel that you are drowning in grief and decisions. Each decision feels like a ton of lead weight. It is hard to get up. It is all you have to put one foot in front of the other. I see you, My child. I am sending support. You are not in this alone. I’ve got you.”

“I, even I, am He who comforts you.” -Isaiah 51:12a

WHO WILL GO FOR ME?

For those who are NOT in a season of grief, I am sensing Jesus has a message for us as well…

“Open your eyes and look up into the faces of those around you. Don’t be so caught up in your day-to-day life that you miss the divine moments I have planned out for you. Who is the one who will be My hands and feet of love today? Who will be the one to sustain the weary with a word? Lift up your eyes and look around you. There is hurting and pain everywhere. Will you be My messenger of comfort and hope today? Look and see what My Father is doing and then…do that.”

Personally, I am taking this exhortation to heart as I too have been preoccupied as I go about my day. I keep hearing in the spirit, “Look up and look around you.”

Lord, help us to notice and respond with your heart and with loving action to the hurting around us. Amen

“The Sovereign LORD has given me his words of wisdom, so that I know how to comfort the weary. Morning by morning he wakens me and opens my understanding to his will.”-Isaiah 50:4 NLT
