Are you needing to hear from heaven? Is there something you are asking for and awaiting an answer?
Solomon is finished furnishing the temple, but there’s one additional thing he needs to bring forth–The ark, God’s presence. He calls for the Ark to be brought into the temple.
What’s the purpose of the temple if God’s presence is not there? We, as God’s temple, believers in Christ, inhabit His presence. We house His very presence inside. (Selah)
Solomon asked “The priests to bring the ark of the Lord’s covenant to its place in the inner sanctuary of the temple, the Most High Place. (1 Kings 8: 6)
What’s inside the ark? The two stone tablets that were placed there by Moses–The law, the original Ten Commandments.
- His Word is alive and active inside of us.
“As soon as the priests withdrew from the Holy Place, the cloud filled the temple of the Lord. And the priests could not perform their service because of the cloud, for the glory of the Lord filled the temple.” (1 Kings 8: 10)
- It’s all in the cloud.
God hung a rainbow in the clouds as a sign of His covenant. One day we will see the Son of Man coming, riding in the clouds.
The priests withdrew and the cloud filled the temple. What do we need to withdraw from so that the Lord can fill? When He fills, we can then withdraw from His presence, to carry to others. His cloud of glory was so overwhelming that the priests could not function!
Oh Lord, hear us from heaven. We need your glory! Are we asking Him for this?
- As partakers of being His temple, He delights in filling us with His glory.
- He deposits, then we withdraw, not for our own selfish reasons, but to bless others.
- This account never is depleted, it keeps growing with a high-interest rate of return.
Are we dedicated to being His glory carriers? That’s what we are! Solomon dedicated himself and his temple. As the temple of God, now as New Testaments believers, we need His filling.

God brought His presence so they didn’t need other gods. He made it very clear to us how He feels about idols. “The Lord will demolish their altars and destroy their sacred stones.” (Hosea 10: 2)
- When you are part of the Living Stone, we don’t need any other stone.
God informed them to “Break up your unplowed ground; for it is time to seek the Lord until He comes.” (Hosea 10: 12) There are places in our lives that need to be plowed so the seed will sprout.
Yes, the Lord is hearing us from heaven.

Jesus receives His burial anointing from a woman. He not only receives her, He receives her preparation. He says this,”What she has done will also be told in memory of her.” (Mark 14: 9)
Preparing the Passover meal He tells them this, “You will all fall away, for it is written.” (Mark 14: 27) Everyone He called He knew beforehand who would betray Him and fall away, yet He still pursued them.
- Keep pursuing and leave the outcome to our God.
Our God is hearing us from heaven. He is waiting for His Word to come to pass, as He brings it forth. He is waiting to fill and fulfill what has been declared over this world and over our lives. He’s hearing us, yes, from heaven. He’s waiting for many more to ask!
