Healings or Miracles

Our inheritance is health and prosperity in our souls that will cause our physical bodies to prosper at the same time.

While many people tend to think that healings and Miracles are the same things, they really are distinctly different in operation as well as approach.

While most Christians have probably heard extensive teaching, sermons, and messages about both of these things, I have found that many people still do not understand the differences between them, let alone how they actually work in the life of every believer.

Healing is the Children’s Bread! Many of us have heard this saying, but what does it actually mean? In scripture, healing manifests through the authority of the Word of God:

“When the even was come, they brought unto him many that were possessed with devils: AND HE CAST OUT THE SPIRITS WITH HIS WORD, AND HEALED ALL THAT WERE SICK:” Matthew 8:16

The word “HEALED” here is the Greek word “therapeuo” and it means “TO WAIT UPON, TO HEAL OR CURE.” However, it’s important to notice that this word is where we get the word “therapy” from in English. If you get injured somehow and need rehabilitation, you would go to physical therapy, and after some time, you’d regain your natural abilities.

Many things which are attached to sickness and disease are demonic and need to be driven out with the WORD OF GOD by the Supernatural Authority of Jesus Christ that He’s invested within the Believer.

“Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: AND THE PRAYER OF FAITH SHALL SAVE THE SICK, AND THE LORD SHALL RAISE HIM UP; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.” James 5:14-15

Miracles, on the other hand, are an outward display of the Miraculous power of God in action. The Word “Miracle” is the same word in scripture everywhere that it’s used “Dunamis”! There are those in the Body of Christ who will operate in these kinds of Demonstrations of the Miraculous, but these Miracles operate on the outside of the Believers life and not from within. Paul described it well in Corinthians when he declared:

“And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man’s wisdom, but in DEMONSTRATION OF THE SPIRIT AND OF POWER:” 1 Corinthians 2:4

The Demonstration of the Holy Spirit is directly attached to the Dunamis of God, as the Word “Power” in this scripture is translated as Dunamis. Miracles are an outward expression of God’s Power by the Holy Spirit to Testify to the Deity of Jesus Christ, and they’re instantaneous! The Blind see, the deaf hear, the lame walk, and the dead are raised (just as a few examples).

Healing is often a Process, while Miracles are immediate. Though I have seen many Miracles in my ministry over the years, healings (in my opinion) are more important to the Body of Christ in the long run because they teach us how to possess our healing and overcome everything that the enemy throws against us.

While God is never responsible for sickness or disease in any way, He will use those experiences and warfare to mature us more and more into His Image while causing us to overcome the same way He did! WE ARE THE HEALED AND NOT THE SICK AS SONS AND DAUGHTERS! Our inheritance is health and prosperity in our souls that will cause our physical bodies to prosper at the same time:

“Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.” 3 John 1:2

If you’re asking the Lord for a touch from Him this Morning, begin to exert your Supernatural Authority in Jesus Christ over your situation! Speak to that mountain of Sickness or Disease until it moves! Demand it to remove itself from your life! If you’ve been bought by Jesus’ Blood, then it is trespassing upon God’s Property and it has to leave! Use the Word of God as the Sword of the Spirit this morning and cast that thing out of your life!
