Healing of the Brokenhearted

Jesus begins to put the pieces of our broken hearts and broken spirits back together by revealing the Father’s love for us.

While many people have heard the verse from Isaiah 61, many don’t realize what a broken heart really constitutes.

“The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me; because the Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; HE HATH SENT ME TO BIND UP THE BROKENHEARTED, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;” Isaiah 61:1

Being Brokenhearted is virtually the same as having a Broken Spirit (Psalms 51:17), they are even the same words in the Hebrew language. The word “Broken” means to “Burst” or to “shatter into pieces”, so if you’re suffering from a broken heart the cure is to “Bind it up” and have Balm poured into the fissures and cracks.

The Idea of BINDING something up7 is to FIRMLY WRAP IT UP as it is pieced back together. So many people that I have seen over the years of ministry, feel this way, it’s as though their entire soul has been shattered by trauma from the circumstances of their personal lives.

This kind of damage comes primarily from broken covenant relationships; marriages, siblings, close friendships, and the like. It is thought that Jesus Christ didn’t die from the wounds which He incurred from the cross or from the blood loss, but rather that He died from a Brokenheart.

Having a broken heart or a broken spirit not only damages your relationships with others, but it also damages your personal identity! I call it the Shattered Mirror, because the way we often view our own personal lives, is through the personal mirror of our Perceptions about ourselves and the world around us and our personal value of ourselves is often measured by the covenants that we have with others in our lives.

When those covenants are broken, by those we value most, it not only damages our hearts, but it damages our personal identities which we hold about ourselves! So when Jesus Christ comes upon the scene, He begins to put the pieces of our Broken hearts and Broken Spirits back together by revealing the Father’s Love for each of us.

Jesus Christ comes like the Balm of Gilead and Pours Himself into those cracks of the fractured hearts and makes them whole again.

Many of you either know someone who has a Broken heart, or you are the recipients of one yourself. The Holy Spirit is Binding Up Your Broken heart this and He’s pouring the Healing Balm of the Love of God into those wounds and cracks of your life!

Your Broken Places are being restored, and your identity is being repaired by the Holy Spirit as He reveals to your mind and heart who you really are in Him and the real value that you have to Him and to everyone around you as well.

YOU DON’T HAVE TO REMAIN BROKEN, JESUS’S HEART WAS BROKEN FOR YOU SO THAT YOUR HEART COULD BE MADE WHOLE ONCE MORE!
