Healed By His Stripes

We tend to think that because Jesus Christ has provided something for us that it should manifest as soon as it was provided.

While the verse below is probably one of the most quoted verses in the Bible, it is also probably one of the most misunderstood ones:

“But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our guilt and iniquities; the chastisement [needful to obtain] peace and well-being for us was upon Him, and with the stripes [that wounded] Him we are healed and made whole.” Isaiah 53:5

When Isaiah wrote this Prophetically, Jesus Christ had not yet been crucified, but after Jesus came and died, this verse appeared in the New Testament in a different form to reinforce the reality of its fulfillment:

“He personally bore our sins in His [own] body on the tree [a][as on an altar and offered Himself on it], that we might die (cease to exist) to sin and live to righteousness. BY HIS WOUNDS YOU HAVE BEEN HEALED.” 1 Peter 2:24

This verse puts the “Healed” in the Past Tense, which tends to cause problems for people because it makes those who are still NOT HEALED, believe that God doesn’t want to heal them, but that’s nothing more than a lie from the enemy.

The Truth of the matter is one of Appropriation, not of Provision. We tend to think that because Jesus Christ has Provided something for us that it should manifest as soon as it was provided. But in order for us to lay hold upon what Jesus Christ has given us, it must be received (and appropriated) by faith.

“But without faith it is impossible to please and be satisfactory to Him. For whoever would come near to God must [necessarily] believe that God exists and that He is the rewarder of those who earnestly and diligently seek Him [out].” Hebrews 11:6

YOUR HEALING HAS ALREADY BEEN PROVIDED for by the cross, the stripes, and the blood of Jesus Christ, but the connection to that Provision is Faith. However, connecting to that Provision is partially done by our change of perception that it has already been paid for in full.

Many people in the Body of Christ believe that healing isn’t provided for until it manifests in the natural realm. This is adherently wrong thinking because it is part of our inheritance in Jesus Christ. When He said, “IT IS FINISHED,” He wasn’t just referring to dealing with Salvation but with everything that we would ever need that pertains to Life and Godliness (2 Peter 1:3) while we’re here, including our healing.

We need to renew our minds as the Sons and Daughters of God (Romans 12:2) so that instead of us sitting around begging for our restoration or healing from God (not believing that it has already been given), we begin to pull upon what Jesus Christ has already provided for each us through Divine Declarations!

All of God’s Promises are Yes and Amen (2 Corinthians 1:20), and your healing is one of those Promises! Don’t allow unbelief to rob you of what Jesus Christ has purchased for your life with His Life. Stop begging and start declaring today and watch your circumstances begin to shift in the opposite direction.
