Recently, during our worship service, the Lord brought to mind the Feast of Tabernacles, which this year was from October 6th through October 13th.
As he brought this festive celebration to my mind, I was reminded of its origin. The origin of the Feast of Tabernacles comes from the time that God delivered the Jewish people from their slavery in Egypt, and they lived in huts or tents during their years in the wilderness.
They were “tabernacled” by the God of their deliverance.
It reminds me of our deliverance from the slavery of sin and death to eternal life in Christ. Currently, we live in temporary “huts” or bodies during our pilgrimage to our eternal promised land. For those in Christ— as we cross through this earthly wilderness, God tabernacles us with his endless love, his eternal presence, and his promised provision.
As the Spirit of God brought these things to mind, I could see him covering his sons and daughters, or tabernacling us in a new way, as this wilderness journey has become increasingly dark.
I saw him coming to those who had seen things that their eyes were never meant to see; he was bringing a tabernacle of peace and of rest— which brought forth healing for broken souls.
He was bringing an increase of supernatural peace that was beyond what minds could comprehend. As peace covered and enveloped his people, trauma broke off, then hope and abundant life were restored where robbery and death sought to redefine lives— and perspectives.
Just as the slavery of Egypt had defined the lives of the Jewish people thousands of years ago, God had redefined their identity as “My people” after he delivered them.
He performed miracles among them and then tabernacled them with his love and protection. He will do that once again for you.
Though the enemy seeks to enslave minds through fear and intimidation (and through seeing things that leave trauma upon souls), the Lord has come to deliver his people and to cause his peace to cover you like a tent. A tent where you meet with him and find all that you need.
If you have felt uncovered or exposed to things that feel like too much for your soul to experience— God has come with his kingdom, his glory, and his power to provide a shelter for you until you reach your eternal promised land.
He says,
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” John 14:27
Invite his peace to tabernacle you! Allow your heart to be set free from the trouble it has seen and the fear that has sought to hold you captive. The Lord is holding you and breathing new life into your soul— renewed life.
For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you,” declares the Lord, “and will bring you back from captivity. I will gather you from all the nations and places where I have banished you,” declares the Lord, “and will bring you back to the place from which I carried you into exile.”” Jeremiah 29:11-14
Continue to feast upon the joy of your salvation and upon the eternal peace that sets you free to live the abundant life that he has for you. I see a deliverance from the captivity of trauma and fear— and dread— coming to God’s people. You are being encircled and enveloped by the God who tabernacles you in his perfect love, mercy, affection, and peace!
Peace is yours.
Rest is yours.
Joy is yours.
Hope is yours.
Provision is yours.
Love is yours…
And eternity is yours!
