Here is a breakdown of Hebrews 10:11-31
• We don’t ever become sinless, yet we’re still presented as perfect
• We arrive robed in a robe of righteousness that is not our own, but of Christ Jesus.
• We must because we can’t stand before God in our human form of perceived holiness.
Don’t forget John the Beloved fell as if DEAD when he encountered JESUS – THE RISEN CHRIST.
– John, who knew Jesus
– John, who walked with Jesus
– John the Beloved who was Jesus best friend
Why then did John drop?
BECAUSE OF CHRIST JESUS HOLINESS!
Revelation 19:12-15
12 His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns; and He had a name written, that no man knew, but He, Himself. 13 And He was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and His name is called The Word of God.14 And the armies which were in heaven followed Him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.
15 And out of His mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it He should smite the nations: and He shall rule them with a rod of iron: and He treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.
HOLY – HOLY – HOLY – IS THE LORD GOD ALMIGHTY!
JESUS CHRIST IS SINLESS PERFECTION!
THE ONLY SINLESS PERFECTION THIS WORLD HAS EVER KNOWN.
Hebrews 10:11-31
Christ’s Death Perfects the Sanctified
11 And every priest stands ministering daily and offering repeatedly the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins.
This is referring to the Hebrew people who had continued on performing animal sacrifices for the remission of sin.
12 But this Man, after He had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down at the right hand of God,
Jesus is “this Man”
13 from that time waiting till His enemies are made His footstool.
That is our job as children of God and soldiers in the Army of The Lord. Death had already been defeated but now we battle for souls.
14 For by one offering He has perfected forever those who are being sanctified.
Key word – ARE BEING, not one sanctification but a continual, ongoing, process. Every minute, of every day. Forever until we reach glory.
15 But the Holy Spirit also witnesses to us; for after He had said before,
This refers to and fulfills the Old Testament (Old Covenant) promise in Jeremiah 31:33-34.
16 “This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, says the Lord: I will put My laws into their hearts, and in their minds I will write them,”
Our heart is changed. Holy Spirit conviction never leaves. We change.
Perfect – no.
ONGOING SANCTIFICATION- YES.
17 then He adds, “Their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more.”
He has perfected us by:
HIS DEATH
HIS RESURRECTION
HIS BLOOD
HIS PERFECTION IS COUNTED AS OUR OWN.
He went to the cross as us, so we can stand before God the Father, The Just Judge, as Him!
18 Now where there is remission of these, there is no longer an offering for sin.
Therefore NO ANIMAL SACRIFICE will cover your sins. You must believe ON JESUS. Don’t forget this was being written to the
Hebrew people who had fallen back into THE LAW.
SO, WE DON’T BECOME SINLESS?
Correct. You don’t become sinless.
You can’t become sinless on this side of glory, however….
You are PRESENTED AS SINLESS.
You don’t become perfect.
You are presented as perfect because JESUS is perfect.
Have you had you ONE DAY – EVEN ONE – where you haven’t fallen short of the glory of God?
This is why God’s GRACE & MERCY IS NEW EVERY MORNING!
SO, WE’RE PRESENTED PERFECT BECAUSE OF HIS PERFECTION AND WE’RE PRESENTED SINLESS BECAUSE OF THE FINISHED WORK OF THE CROSS?
YES!
We arrive robed in HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS.
So, do we go on knowingly in sin? Walking in sin?
Of course not!
Read all of Romans. We go on each day, in need of a Savior, making Him Lord of our life, being washed in The Word, changed by Holy Spirit, and giving ALL HONOR AND GLORY, AND PRAISE TO THE KING OF GLORY – JESUS CHRIST!
OUR SIN SHOULD GRIEVE US.
Does Jesus choose to work through imperfect people?
Yes
Every. Single. Day
Let us never become so prideful that we forget how HIGH AND HOLY, HIS HOLINESS IS! No man – NO MAN – has ever achieved it.
