God Spoke, Tell the World

Believers need to hear that roar and not fear, but let the people know what God has said and is about to do.

A lion has roared! Who will not fear? The Lord God has spoken! Who can but prophesy?

Amos 3:8

When a lion roars, everyone pays attention. There is a level of fear that rises in a person hearing the ferocious roar and command that the lion demands. Afterward, people will talk about what they heard. For many it is not a common sound to hear, so it is considered something very amazing and different. Hearing this roar is even more frightening when it is heard outside of a zoo and in the wild, where it is free to roam and attack.

Amos writes that a lion has roared, and everyone should be afraid. God has spoken and who cannot but help repeat what God has said?

There are voices and noises being made everywhere a person goes. The noise is so much that it is often difficult for a person to hear a very specific voice. In some locations, it is noisy enough that unless one is shouting, no one can hear what is being said.

As a result, the world does not hear the voice of God. On occasion, God will roar loudly. He is shouting out that He is about to bring down judgment on a nation or group of people. His roar is a warning to let people know what is about to occur.

God does not desire to strike. His first desire is that people will repent and turn from their sins to follow Him, which is why He will sometimes roar before the attack.

Believers need to hear that roar and not fear, but let the people know what God has said and is about to do. This is prophesying God’s words, giving people a chance to repent and be saved.

As a believer, God has roared into your life and given you new life. Now you have the opportunity to hear what God is saying and what He is about to do. Listen to hear the roar of God to this world.

Do not keep that message to yourself but take the message you have heard and pass it on to those who need to hear it. Proclaim the words of God loud and clear for the world to hear. Give others a chance to believe in His words, repent, and be saved.

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will hear the roar of God; that you will know what God is saying and doing; that you will let others know what God is saying and doing; and that God will draw many to Himself through you.
