God is Everywhere

So often we hear wilderness and shudder.

God is everywhere.

Even in the smallest of things.

So often He will speak to us in a glimpse.

The seemingly mundane becomes profound when we stop and observe.

This morning – at a traffic light – I noticed a little squirrel by a tree. He was eating an acorn he’d found on the ground.

He took a few bites – dug a hole – hid it – and then scampered away.

Holy Spirit impressed this image upon my heart.

“Heidi, this is like little secrets or revelations from your Heavenly Father”

The squirrel didn’t make a grand gesture about his nut blessing. He didn’t run around – drawing attention to his acorn – he savored it, hid it, and will return later for more of its goodness.

The Lord was teaching me a lesson in this 5-second observation.

Not everything He shares with me is for everyone.

Every interaction doesn’t need broadcasting.

Some revelations are just for me.

Somethings He speaks, shares, or reveals are meant to be kept private.

Jewels.

A hidden treasure I can return to, and feast on later.

I haven’t been going live videos, word studies, or sharing revelations in the word as of late….

I’m in my spiritual Siberia.

The desert.

The wilderness with my King.

So often we hear wilderness and shudder.

The wilderness is hard.

The wilderness can feel isolating… if you believe yourself to be alone.

Or…

The wilderness can be beautiful, glorious, and quiet enough to hear Him.

Tranquil.

Serine.

Hidden.

Tucked away.

Set apart.

We often miss this passage in scripture – but it’s where my First Love has me.

Song of Solomon 8:5

Who is that coming up from the wilderness, leaning on her Beloved? Under the apple tree, I awakened you.

All of creation testifies to His glory.

The acorn. The apple tree. The wilderness.

The wilderness isn’t just a testing place.

It’s a trusting place.

It’s a beautiful space – carved out for secrets, and healing, so much healing, much-needed healing, and growth, and breathing, and time alone with the Father.

This spiritual Siberia is a divine appointment with my King.

Song of Solomon 8:6

Place me like a seal over your heart, like a seal on your arm; for love is as strong as death, its jealousy unyielding as the grave. It burns like blazing fire, like a mighty flame.

I’m staying warm by His fire until He says move. Then and only then, will I emerge from this wilderness….leaning on my Beloved.

I am my Beloveds and my Beloved is mine.
