How can we be fully assured? “Stand firm in all the will of God, mature and fully assured.” (Colossians 4: 12)
Ok, then how do we achieve this? We wrestle in prayer for ourselves, or others.
Why do we have to wrestle? “We wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” (Ephesians 6: 12)
Did you see how many “against” were listed? I counted five! We have an enemy who is against us as believers, and against the purposes of God to be fulfilled. We are coming up against demonic forces. However, God’s Word says, “If God is for us, who can be against us?” (Romans 8: 31) Let’s be assured that God is for us!
Prayer is the foundation for the Kingdom of God.
Prayer is the foundation that builds up and secures all that is being built for God.
Paul urged his brothers to pray for him. He asked with a sense of urgency saying, “I urge you, brothers, by our Lord Jesus Christ and by the love of the Spirit, to join me in my struggle by praying to God for me. Pray that I may be rescued from the unbelievers in Judea and that my service in Jerusalem may be acceptable to the saints there, so that by God’s will I may come to you with joy and together with you be refreshed. The God of peace be with you all. Amen.” (Romans 15: 30-33)
Kingdom workers need prayer.
- Standing firm in all the will of God requires a supernatural strength that prayer provides.
- Standing firm in full assurance is standing strong and complete.
Standing assured is being confident, secure, certain, and solid.
“God’s solid foundation stands firm, sealed with this inscription: “The Lord knows those who are His, AND, “Everyone who confesses the name of the Lord must turn away from wickedness.” (2 Timothy 2: 19)
- When we are sealed with an inscription, we are branded, marked, and carved.
The word AND is a conjunction that connects the two. When something is connected there is no separation!
KINGDOM PRINCIPLE: Kingdom workers are sealed by God as we stand firm in Him AND in His will.
