For The Sake Of The Elect

He’s the God of second chances.

Posted on

Who are the elect?  Those who are in Christ, the ones saved and serving the Lord.

Paul is writing to Timothy to encourage him that he can, “Endure everything for the sake of the elect.”  (2 Timothy 2: 10)

  • Serving God will cause us to endure like a soldier.

He says, Timothy, “My son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.  Endure hardships with us like a good soldier of Jesus Christ.”  (2 Timothy 2: 1, 3)

As believers, we are God’s elect.  We must, “Do our best and present ourselves to God as one approved, a workmen who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.”  (2 Timothy 2: 15)

  • Uphold the gospel–always even through opposition.

For those who are in opposition to the elect, the one’s chosen of God, Paul instructed Timothy this way, “To those who oppose him he must gently instruct, in the hope that God will grant them repentance leading them to a knowledge of the truth, and that they will come to their senses and escape from the trap of the devil, who has taken them captive to do His will.”  (2 Timothy 2: 5)

  •  The enemy has trapped and held them captive.

So what does our flesh say?  Let them pay for what they deserve.

See The Entrapment

Here’s what Jeremiah, the prophet, said about those who are entrapped by the enemy.  God told him to “Stand at the gate of the Lord’s house and there proclaim this message:  “Hear the word of the Lord, all your people of Judah who came to these gates to worship the Lord.  Reform your ways and your actions, and I will let you live in this place.  Do not trust in deceptive words and say, “This is the temple of the Lord, the temple of the Lord, the temple of the Lord!”  (Jeremiah 7: 1-4)

Another Chance Given To Be The Elect

God in His ways, is always looking for us to be redeemed, but it’s up to us to come to Him.  He’s the God of second chances.  Here’s how He addresses their specific issues:

If you really change your ways and your actions and deal with each other justly, if you do not oppress the alien, the fatherless or the widow or do not shed innocent blood, and do not follow other gods…then I will let you live in this place, in the land.”  (Jeremiah 7: 5-7)

  • There is no future for those who trust in deceptive ways.
  • Life is only in the hand of the Lord.

“The Lord says, “My anger and my wrath will be poured out on this place, on man and beast.”  (Jeremiah 7: 20)

Time and time again, God is calling his people to obey and walk in His ways, but they didn’t listen or pay attention.

Should we expect the world, those who do not walk in the Lord, to act any different?  No!

Jeremiah stated, “Since they have rejected the Word of the Lord, what kind of wisdom do they have?  (Jeremiah 8: 9)

Unfortunately, those who walk in disobedience will encounter this, “They will fall among the fallen; they will be brought down when they are punished.”  (Jeremiah 8: 12)

Sadly, this is the reality.  God does everything, for the sake of the elect.  It’s all for us, but all about Him!  There is no evil plan of man that can override the plan of God.  It’s all for the sake of the elect.  Our redemption as the elect is to bring Him glory!

God shall make our calling and election sure.

 The House Of The Elect

There is a place that my elect shall go; it’s to the place of where my glory shall be made known.

So stand strong my beloved elected; your road has been carefully selected.

It’s a road that may include some pain; but I assure you, it’s never in vain.

The road of the elect will be made sure; listen to my promises, they will keep you pure.

I’ve promised you security and hope till the end; stand and believe, on this you can depend.

The wicked will pay for their deceitful ways; I’ve called you to pray, which will stop the crazed.

They shall see my wrath and my fury; and wished they would have turned back and changed their life’s story.

I’m setting in place, those whom I’ve called; my blood purchased their lives and for their journey to be installed.

My ways and my purposes will always stand; stay strong my elected, and listen to my command.

My army is assembling to carry out my Word; the angels have been dispatched to obey the Lord.

Many will be released from the grip of his hand; as they repent, turn and take a stand.

Eyes will see my Lordship and glory; be thankful when they were released from the fury.

The veil has been torn for many to come; worship me and enter, remember where you’ve come from.

It’s all for your sake, my elect and bride; the world will soon see, you cannot hide.

I’m exposing the corruption and the sin; my elect will return and then begin.

So carry out my definite plan, that is for every elected man.

Stay strong, continue to worship me; for my glory shall descend for all to see.
