Finding Your Missing Peace

Yes, you are important enough to take some time to nurture your soul.

What is going on in your life at this very moment? How do you “feel” right now? Be honest and check your heart rate, your stress level, your attitude.

Haven’t you found that life has become a series of activities, functions, meetings, events, and deadlines? As these activities increase, for most of us, this means we give ourselves very little “me” time. We tend to put on hold those things that actually sustain and renew us.

Peace for every person can mean something totally different. Webster defines the word as:

A state of freedom from storm or disturbance.

For myself I have found when things in my world begin spinning out of control, I too begin to spin out of control. This is never a good place to be. When life becomes frenzied and overly hectic, my own health and well-being are directly impacted.

What do you do to Find Your Missing PEACE? What does that look like for you? Have you ever thought about it?

Perhaps you enjoy escaping with a good book, exercising, cooking, or even napping as a way to de-stress. Some may escape with drugs or alcohol or other addictive behaviors. Sadly there are those who become so overwhelmed with life they simply slip into depression.

What do you need to do to find your missing PEACE? The first step is in knowing that it is indeed missing. The second is prioritizing the “YOU” factor. Yes, YOU are important enough to take some time to nurture your soul.

When you make the decision to allow yourself some time to be still and to relax, commit a special time to make it happen. Make an appointment with yourself. It doesn’t have to be elaborate, just 15-30 minutes doing whatever it is that brings you stillness and peace.

Put away your phone, your laptop, your tablet and do something to disconnect. Try some different activities each day. Mix it up. The bottom line is to just do it!

May you find your missing PEACE today and every day!
