Faith vs Fear

The Lord wants you to believe what He says above anything you may see with your natural eyes.

Recently, in a time of prayer, I heard the Lord say, “faith and fear.” As I continued to pray, I just kept hearing it over and over again, “faith and fear.” Then I started to get a download about these two words. The Lord asked me, “What is faith?” I answered, “Faith is you, Lord. It is knowing you will do whatever you’ve said you will do.” Then the Lord asked me, “What is fear?” I answered, “Fear is the opposite of faith. It’s from the enemy; it is not from You.” As soon as I heard this from the Lord, I knew this was a prophetic word for so many in this season.

As believers, we are constantly in the battle of faith versus fear. In every situation of our lives, we can either respond in faith or in fear. Faith is receiving a prophetic word, and even though we aren’t seeing it in the natural, walking it out anyway. Faith is believing the written word of God and stepping out into the impossible things God is calling you to do. On the other hand, fear is not believing the prophetic word you received because you cannot see it coming to pass in the natural. Fear is believing the worst will happen in each situation.

So how do we live lives full of faith and not give in to fear? Whenever fear tries to rush in, we immediately combat it with faith. The Bible says that faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. This is why if we are going to win the battle of faith vs. fear in this season, or any other, then we must constantly be filling ourselves with the truth of the Word of God. It is that time spent in the Word of God and prayer that will keep us in faith and out of fear. In the place of prayer, we defeat fear and our faith is strengthened daily. The peace of God will rule in our lives if we resist fear and cling to both the written Word of God and the prophetic promises He has given to each of us.

Fear is from the enemy and he is constantly trying to deflate your faith because he knows how powerful we as believers are when we are in faith. Hebrews 4:12 says, “For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires.” If you will learn how to wield the sword of the Word of God whenever the enemy tries to throw fear on you then you will live a life infused with faith and nothing will be able to stop you!

Believe God in every area of your life and you will see His blessing and favor rush into every single part of it. Let faith become your automotive response to any test or trial and you will find yourself coming out victorious each time. The Word of God promises that when we are in covenant with God, He sticks closer to us than a brother. He will never leave you or forsake you; you can count on God. If He said He will do it, He will. If He started it, He will finish it. And if He called you to do something, the only thing standing in your way is you, my friend!

This is your season to believe for greater and more than you ever have before. In this season, God is looking for those that will walk by faith and not by sight. Looking at things in the natural will steal your faith every single time. This is why the Lord wants you to believe what He says above anything you may see with your natural eyes. Those with a strong mindset and a heavenly perspective are those that will go forth and do great exploits for the Lord in this season. Make sure you are building yourself up in the Spirit and aggressively resisting fear. Whatever situation you are facing, whatever you are believing for the Lord to do, throw faith on it. Throw a scripture on it. Fight the good fight of faith and see what God will do in and through your life for the Kingdom of God in this season!
