At our church, Roar Church Texarkana, we pray before each service in what we call pre-service prayer. Several weeks ago during one of these times of prayer, one of our prayer warriors shared that she felt the Lord was saying to have great expectation going into the service. This was confirmation for me because just a few days before this the Lord had been speaking the same thing to me.
During the altar time in the service that morning, we saw signs, wonders, and miracles manifested as we prayed for people. It was one of the most powerful services we have ever had. The Lord then spoke to me and said, “Move forward with great expectation because expansion is coming.” When I heard this, I knew this was a word for not only me but so many in the body of Christ in this hour.
That same afternoon I checked in on two of our businesses and both had increased. I was surprised at the growth because it was so drastic and unexpected. Then the Lord reminded me, “I told you to move forward with great expectation because expansion is coming.”
In this season, we must raise our expectations to see the expansion God wants to lead each of us into. We must not only pray for what we are expecting the Lord to do in this season but we must also prepare for what we are expecting. I’m telling you now, my friends, expansion is yours, get ready and move towards it!
When I think of preparing for expansion by raising our expectations I am reminded of the widow with oil in 2 Kings 4. Scripture tells us that the miraculous flow of oil did not stop until all the empty vessels she had gathered were filled. What if she had raised her expectation and gathered even more empty vessels? What would her expansion have been if she had greater expectation?
I think the Lord is asking many believers the same questions in this season. Are you expecting the kind of explosive expansion God wants to give us? Or are we just believing to barely get by? I want to encourage you to raise your expectation because your expansion is going to be greater than you have ever imagined!
As you step into this expansion remember that God does not give us increase and blessing just for ourselves. What can you do with your expansion to bless others? What can you do with your increase that will advance the Kingdom of God?
The number one thing that keeps people from all that God has for them is a limited mindset. Ephesians 3:20 in the Passion Translation says this, “Never doubt God’s mighty power to work in you and accomplish all this. He will achieve infinitely more than your greatest request, your most unbelievable dream, and exceed your wildest imagination! He will outdo them all, for his miraculous power constantly energizes you.” So, no longer let your own limitations keep you from God’s power working in and through your life. Raise your expectations. Dream bigger than you ever have before. Allow the Lord to expand your mindset and you will receive the increase God has for you! Move forward with great expectation because your expansion is coming!
