Imagine a really, really big footprint, large enough for us to step into it. Well, that’s exactly what God has positioned us to do, in Him. We are told, “You made him ruler over the works of your hands; you put everything under his feet.” (Psalm 8: 6)
Jesus, crowned in glory and honor, tasted death for everyone. We are told, “The one who makes men holy and those who are made holy, are of the same family.” (Hebrews 2: 11)
- As His follower, we are of the family of God.
Our story about Joseph parallels who Jesus is and what He does. “For this reason he had to be made like his brothers in every way, in order that He might become a merciful and faithful high priest in service to God.” (Hebrews 2: 17)
Joseph, undoubtedly, received from this promise: “In times of disaster they will not wither, in days of famine they will enjoy plenty.” (Psalm 37: 19)
The plentiful “God of Abundance” blessed them for, “The famine was severe; both in Egypt and Canaan wasted away because of the famine.” (Genesis 47: 13) Pharaoh said to Joseph, “Settle your father and your brothers in the best part of the land.” (Genesis 47: 5)
- God sometimes will use provision from other resources, from the hearts and hands of others.
- His provision is the best.
So, at the command of Pharaoh, Joseph obeyed and “Provided his father and his brothers and all his father’s household with food, according to the number of their children.” (Genesis 47: 12)
- With our God, there is no lack.
- He blesses us even when we don’t deserve it, and gives a seat of honor.
He continually blesses mankind: “What is man that you are mindful of him, the Son of man that you care for him? You made him a little lower than the heavenly beings and crowned him with glory and honor.” (Psalm 8: 4-5) Redeemed mankind is able to walk in the footsteps of Jesus and now crowned in His glory!
Everything is in His hands and under His feet. There is nothing that can be overruled, that Jesus hasn’t ruled and reigned over first.
Trust Him in the process even if it doesn’t look favorable. Remember He is above all. He shall rule on our behalf, and watch us walk it out in His footsteps. His imprint on our life is now our footprint.
