Enduring Truth

Hold on to His truth and do not allow yourself to waiver and follow the world’s false truth.

For the Lord is good; His mercy is everlasting, and His truth endures to all generations. Psalm 100:5

Truth is something that is factual and cannot change at any time. Once something is true, it will never become false. People claim to want to know the truth about many different things. However, with mankind’s limited knowledge, knowing the absolute truth is difficult. Over time, various things that were considered true were found to be wrong due to newer knowledge and understanding, and new abilities. Knowing truth has become fluid and unattainable, according to the world.

While giving thanks, the psalmist states that God is good, His mercy lasts forever, and His truth will endure forever.

Scientists are always known for questioning everything. It is what helps them discover new things in nearly everything on the planet and in the universe. They realize that people can make mistakes in previous thoughts of what was true and what was wrong.

Over time, this manner of thinking has infiltrated every area of life. People now question everything and change the meaning of everything. Truth has now become relative to the individual. What is truth to a person is true, regardless of whether it is true for someone else or not. The truth of the world flip-flops all the time.

God, however, does not change at all. His truth is the truth for all time and all history, for all people everywhere. What was true according to God’s word two thousand years ago is still true to this day.

Many in the world, and even in the church, have tried to say that God’s word has changed, that the meanings have changed. Sin is no longer sin. It is not God’s word that changed, but mankind’s thinking and understanding. Believers can stand on the truth of God’s word and that it will never change.

Regardless of how old you are, most likely, you have seen some things that were regarded as truth are now considered false due to new understandings. While this may be true in some things, it is not true with God’s word. His word is truth for all time.

God will never lead you astray with something false or wrong. His word will never change, causing you doubt or leading you down the wrong path. Hold on to His truth and do not allow yourself to waiver and follow the world’s false truth.

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will know God’s truth in your own life; that you will trust God’s word as true; and that you will know God is good and full of mercy.
