Are you struggling with disappointment? If you are, let’s dismantle that disappointment with truth and hope that only comes from one place, the Word of God.
Interestingly, the word dismantle means: to take (a machine or structure) to pieces; to take apart or tear down. I hope to tear down any lies that God’s children may be gripping. How can we do that? We proclaim truth!
For some, disappointment came from a betrayal from someone you trusted, and maybe even you thought that person would be around forever. Maybe it was a divorce or a broken relationship that happened which blindsided you.
Today, I speak truth that hope does not disappoint us. “Hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out His love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom He has given us.” (Romans 5: 5)
- Hope is an antidote for disappointment.
The Lord gave me an acronym for hope. It is:
Healing
Oil
Poured Out
Eternally
I love how He graciously gives us His Word to encourage us. The oil of the Holy Spirit and love of God is constantly poured out to us, as we position ourselves in Him. In fact, the entire chapter of Romans 5 is about joy and peace. If we don’t have hope, we will not have peace and joy.
- Living in disappointment robs us of this peace and joy.
Kingdom-minded hope is not equated with optimism.
It is the blessed assurance of our future destiny and is based on God’s love, which is revealed to us by the Holy Spirit. God’s love is poured out to us by the Holy Spirit.
God desires to take the “dis” out of disappoint, so we can see His love and faithfulness appointed to us.
He’s made that promise to us. Here it is: “May we be enthroned in God’s presence forever; appoint your love and faithfulness to protect us.” (Psalm 61: 7)
- Removing the “dis,” disarms the enemy.
If you are disappointed and in a time of waiting, I encourage you with this: “I waited patiently for the Lord; He turned to me and heard my cry; He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire: He set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand.” (Psalm 40: 1)
- Hope will reposition how we stand.
- Let Jesus be your anchor of hope.
We have this certainty of God’s promise. Take hold of the hope offered to us. “We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain, where Jesus, who went before us, has entered on our behalf.” (Hebrews 6: 18-20)
Kingdom-minded believers take hold of hope as we let Him anchor us.
Like an anchor holding a ship in place, in position, is how our safety is secured. As the anchor is thrown down to the ocean bed, Jesus is reaching down from the inner sanctuary with His hand for us to take hold of Him. In this way, we are secured and anchored in hope. As I was listening and positioning myself I heard these words:
“For it is time for my children to stand and position themselves in Me, their living hope. I AM hope. I AM security. I AM love. The I AM is, was, and will be! For I AM the same yesterday, today, and forever.
Dismantle and pull down, tear apart those strongholds that are lies. Reposition yourself in My Word. Lift up your soul and trust me. I will not let you be put to shame, nor let your enemies triumph over you.
No one, I say, no one will ever be put to shame whose hope is in Me. This is My covenant promise. This is My love, mercy, and faithfulness. Take hold of My hope. It’s your healing oil poured out to you eternally, that’s forever.”
