Collective Member Highlight: Jennifer Quinn

For years, she believed no one else suffered from the same marriage and parenting problems as she did. “Thankfully, in time,” Quinn writes, “God has revealed this to be a lie.”

She started off with posting on Facebook, and today she’s a published author. Jennifer Quinn lives the testimony of what it’s like to go from being a woman hungry for the Word to being a woman who’s now teaching the Word.

In 2014, Quinn committed herself to faithfully reading her Bible. She prayed to God, “If You’re real, please show Yourself to me.” As she read, Quinn was amazed by the content she devoured—content that had never been taught during her children’s Bible study class.

In her revelation and awe, she started posting her insights on Facebook. Women from her church responded favorably. And soon enough, it didn’t matter if she was busy or not. The Lord wouldn’t let her forget about sharing the words He’d pressed upon her heart.

“Some family members and friends were a bit irritated at my ‘spiritual posts,’” Quinn said, mentioning that still today, some of them are bothered. “But I hope that more are encouraged by them and strengthened in their faith.”

While the Father continues to show Quinn His nature and goodness, Quinn makes sure, “I’m ordinary, but my God is not. I write as He teaches.” She knows that her voice is geared specifically for women like herself, “women who are striving to live in a way that is pleasing to God amidst the normal (and sometimes not so normal) stresses.”

There’s also an underlying passion to unveil the unspoken because Quinn felt alone for so many years. For years, she believed no one else suffered from the same marriage and parenting problems as she did. “Thankfully, in time,” Quinn writes, “God has revealed this to be a lie.”

One of the resources that helped bring truth and positive changes was a collection of Christian marriage books she read. Because of the wisdom Jenny gleaned from others, she hopes that her own writing can “encourage, strengthen, and teach people who are struggling to keep fighting the good fight.”

The fruit of this desire is evident in Quinn’s debut publication, Cultivating Spiritual Growth: 40 Devotions to Challenge and Encourage. Her uplifting devotional was published in April of 2019, and features teachings and reflection opportunities for women of every age.
