Chosen Instrument

As snakes shed their covering to produce new growth, scales fell from his eyes, and he was filled with the Holy Ghost.

People didn’t trust Saul

He wanted Christians dead

He wanted to destroy the church

expressing threats with every breath

He was eager to kill the Lord’s followers

arresting all who call on His name

but Saul was God’s chosen instrument

playing the tune that Jesus saves

He no longer did things contrary to his newfound belief

He turned over a new leaf after hearing Jesus speak

Saul shared about Christ’s love, His mercy, and His grace

He spread nothing but truth to the entire human race

He taught the opposite of what he once taught

He began teaching that Jesus is indeed the Son of God

He no longer persecuted but spread the Good News

He was no longer confused about the King of the Jews

Saul, renamed Paul, had new identity in Christ

He was no longer blinded after seeing the light

As snakes shed their covering to produce new growth

scales fell from his eyes, and he was filled with the Holy Ghost

Each word and deed not said or done in love is a scale

We are called to love; it’s a direct command, not a tale

If you have any scales of ungodliness that need to be removed

there’s no time like the present for new management in you!

He fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to him, “Saul! Saul! Why are you persecuting me?” “Who are you, lord?” Saul asked. And the voice replied, “I am Jesus, the one you are persecuting! Now get up and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do.” Acts 9:3-6

About the Author

Debbie always had a desire to write a book, but didn’t have a clue as to what the content could be. Children’s books and short stories piqued her interest most. She had dabbled with writing family-oriented poems, off and on over the years, but became overwhelmed with a hunger to write about God and His love in her late fifties. She started seeing God everywhere she looked whether it was in a deck of cards, movie titles, nursery rhymes, popular sayings, flower petals, or a baseball game. She finally realized that prophecy was being fulfilled when one of her sons told her that her poetry glorified God and was meant to be shared. The Lord’s words from an encounter in 2011 immediately returned to her. She had found her own way to speak about God just like He told her she would. Debbie is sharing her poetry in hopes that it will nourish and strengthen souls for the Kingdom of God. She refers to her poetic style as floetry, as it is the move of the Holy Spirit flowing from her heart to another. Her desire to flood the prisons with her book is due to God’s belief in her, and in her belief that no one can cast the first stone, but that everyone can help someone who is in desperate need of a Savior.
