Being Proactive when Under Attack

If our cry is for God’s assistance, to walk in the power of humility, then our words will be few and very powerful.

“Several have sworn to destroy you.  You have the power to nullify their efforts.  I want you to curse the words and bless the people.  Your blessing has the power to do what your curses can not do.  You will not walk under their curses, but they will walk under the weight of your blessings.  See to it that you do not waver.  Their names and identity are not important or relevant to what I have called you to do.  You may never see the fruit of your endeavors.  You have the power of blessing on you, use it to bring weight.  I have chosen you for this task.  I know it is somewhat ambiguous.  You will have to trust me.  I love you.  I always have.  You are special to the Kingdom.  Choose your words carefully, they are powerful.”

Profound (deep, weighty, reflective, insightful, intense, (these are applicable words used to describe Holy Spirit)) is found in the belly of humility.”

I believe this was a word from the Lord Jesus.  05-12-2021      Judge for yourself.

Rom 12:14 Bless those who persecute you [who are cruel in their attitude toward you]; bless and do not curse them.

Luke 6:28 Invoke blessings upon and pray for the happiness of those who curse you, implore God’s blessing (favor) upon those who abuse you [who revile, reproach, disparage, and high-handedly misuse you].

Rom 12:21 Do not let yourself be overcome by evil, but overcome (master) evil with good.

HOW ARE WE TO BLESS THEM?

Blessing those who curse you involves several factors.

First, our effectiveness in blessing others is highly dependent on our motives and attitudes.  Declaring blessings for the purpose of self-gratification and revenge will only lead to empowering them over you.  The desired results are, that they turn to Jesus and be born-again.  With this principle leading us, there must be considerable self-examination before there are declarations of blessings.  For example, words like, “I bless them with conviction, so they will realize how much they have hurt me,” focuses on me.  We don’t want them focusing on us, we want them to focus on Jesus.  It would be better to declare, “I bless them, Lord, so their eyes are opened to see You and how much You love them.”

Here are a few suggestive blessings:

I bless you with open eyes and ears to hear the Word of the Lord.

I bless you with godly conviction that will lead you to repentance.

I bless you with multiple encounters with angelic hosts that will the increase fear of the Lord in your life.

I bless you with divine encounters that will ensure you there is a God and He loves you.

I bless you with spirit-awareness that will realize your spirit is not alive and you will seek to be born-again.

I bless your Christian friends that will speak Biblical truth to you.

I bless you with godly wisdom and understanding that will enlighten the path Holy Spirit has designed for you.

I bless you with dreams and visions from Father God so that you will know the depth of Father’s love.

I bless you with love, grace, and mercy that you will know the unworthiness of your carnal nature.

I bless you with freedom from the power of sin and judgments that you will experience salvation.

I bless you with godly self-awareness concerning the destructiveness of your words and actions, that brings godly sorrow.

I bless you with godly sorrow that you will embrace repentance.

I bless you with a self-awareness that you will seek truth.

I bless you with loneliness that you will hunger for godly companionships.

I bless you with suffering that you will cry out for healings from Jesus.

I bless you with abandonment that you will embrace Father’s love.

I bless you with terrifying dreams that you will beseech Holy Spirit for freedom from demons.

I bless you with divine visitations that you will be blessed with divine revelations.

I bless you with poverty that you will abandon pride and embrace humility.

I bless you with a truth about satan/Lucifer that you will reject him and his ways.

Secondly, blessing others should be consistent.  Every day and multiple times a day will be more effective.  These declarations speak to those who have sworn to destroy you and they will also build up your faith.

Rev 12:9-11 And the huge dragon was cast down and out — that age-old serpent, who is called the Devil and Satan, he who is the seducer (deceiver) of all humanity the world over; he was forced out and down to the earth, and his angels were flung out along with him.

10 Then I heard a strong (loud) voice in heaven, saying, Now it has come — the salvation and the power and the kingdom (the dominion, the reign) of our God, and the power (the sovereignty, the authority) of His Christ (the Messiah); for the accuser of our brethren, he who keeps bringing before our God charges against them day and night, has been cast out!

11 And they have overcome (conquered) him by means of the blood of the Lamb and by the utterance of their testimony, for they did not love and cling to life even when faced with death [holding their lives cheap till they had to die for their witnessing].

Third, Holy Spirit can/will enlighten you when you are being specifically targeted.  When these times occur, it is imperative to declare multiple blessings.  Bless those who are ‘cursing’ you.  Even if you don’t know who they are, saturate the atmosphere with blessings and their curses will lose their power.  Developing and maintaining an intimate relationship with Holy Spirit is vital!  How this relationship is developed, is demonstrated in my book ‘In Search Of The Diamond’.

Fourth, blessing those who are demonstrating ungodly, evil character, is an expression of Father’s character.

Rom 5:8 But God shows and clearly proves His [own] love for us by the fact that while we were still sinners, Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One) died for us.

Luke 6:27-28 But I say to you who are listening now to Me: [in order to heed, make it a practice to] love your enemies, treat well (do good to, act nobly toward) those who detest you and pursue you with hatred, 28 Invoke blessings upon and pray for the happiness of those who curse you, implore God’s blessing (favor) upon those who abuse you [who revile, reproach, disparage, and high-handedly misuse you].

Luke 6:35-36 But love your enemies and be kind and do good [doing favors so that someone derives benefit from them] and lend, expecting and hoping for nothing in return but considering nothing as lost and despairing of no one; and then your recompense (your reward) will be great (rich, strong, intense, and abundant), and you will be sons of the Most High, for He is kind and charitable and good to the ungrateful and the selfish and wicked. 36 So be merciful (sympathetic, tender, responsive, and compassionate) even as your Father is [all these].

We are called to express Father’s character throughout the world; for our entire life.  It is one of the highest callings on our life.  Fulfilling this calling is crucial to our relationship with the Royal Family.  It is an expression of the insight we have into that realm.  Royalty can only be expressed by Royalty.  We are spirit-present in a separate and holy environment, apart from the rest of the world.  We are the born-again heirs of the King of Kings.

Loving those who hate us produces evidence that we have been raised above the dominating forces of hatred, and choose to walk in the Spirit of love rather than in the flesh.  Hatred is beneath our rightful standing and the dominating power of humility in our lives.  We have authority over hateful words!  Submitting to the actions of haters is distractive and demeaning.  It is like asking a King to be dominated by a hateful peasant.  Our Father is over all, never under anything.  We live in Him; therefore, we are called to live ‘over’ and not ‘under’.  We live looking up to God and not down at people (pride looks down at God and people).  We are on earth to inspire the lost to become part of the Royal Family.

HOW TO CURSE THEIR WORDS?

These are words of declaration, not request or petition.  When one is cursing the words of those that have sworn to destroy you, it is important to be specific.  Just declaring words, without pointed intentions, is ineffective.  This is a matter of  ‘putting your foot down’ and drawing on Holy Spirit’s wisdom and power to nullify the power of their words.

Here are a few suggestions:

In Jesus’s name and authority, I reject your words.

I declare they have no power over me.

I live in Jesus and your words have no rights to enter into Him.

I judge them to be not of God, and therefore I do not accept them.

I curse (put down) your words (not the person) and strip your words of all power.  Even the power of the words you use to sustain yourself under the blessings (weightiness) I declare over you.

I curse your words, so that, they do not enter the airways and they do not arrive at their intended targets.

I declare your words are null and void of any ungodly, irreverent influence.

I declare your words are canceled by the blood and sacrifice of the Lord Jesus Christ.

I declare your words have no place in my life or my future.

I declare your words will bow before the King of Kings and Lord of Lords, Jesus Christ.

CURSE katara (kat-ar’-ah) imprecation (evoke evil upon), execration (the act of cursing or denouncing) a curse so uttered:

> kata (kat-ah’) down

> ara (ar-ah’) prayer

CURSE THEIR WORDS (KAC): putting them down, by our God-allocated (to apportion for a specific purpose) authority.  By our rightful position, as part of the Royal Family, we declare them to be evil and ineffective in our lives or our destiny.

You can also declare who you are ‘in Jesus’, affirming your positional authority.  Speaking out these declarations informs your enemies of the Biblical truths you live in/under, and your reliance on them.  We are in a spiritual battle and the power of Holy Spirit-led words assures us of the victory.  We are not to walk under but over their curses.  Those who have ‘sworn to destroy us’ are to walk under the weightiness of the profound blessings we declare over them.

WHAT PART DOES THIS PLAY IN SPIRITUAL WARFARE?

Spiritual warfare is a multifaceted expression of authority.  Waring against evil takes on many forms and functions.  Many have focused on particular aspects of the battle.  Personally, my major battle is within myself.  Waring against the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eye, and the pride of life consumes the majority of the power I possess in Jesus.  I know the Word grants us the authority to be more than overcomers.  I also know I spend the majority of that authority on humbly walking before the Royal Family (Father, Son, Holy Spirit).  If our cry is for God’s assistance, to walk in the power of humility, then our words will be few and very powerful.  Holy Spirit will anoint our words and they will strip the enemies’ words of all the power expressed against us.  Oh, to be a person who walks at that level of power and authority.  Yes, it is possible in Jesus.  He will exalt the humble!

James 4:7-10 So be subject to God. Resist the devil [stand firm against him], and he will flee from you.  8 Come close to God and He will come close to you. [Recognize that you are] sinners, get your soiled hands clean; [realize that you have been disloyal] wavering individuals with divided interests, and purify your hearts [of your spiritual adultery]. 9 [As you draw near to God] be deeply penitent and grieve, even weep [over your disloyalty]. Let your laughter be turned to grief and your mirth to dejection and heartfelt shame [for your sins].  10 Humble yourselves [feeling very insignificant] in the presence of the Lord, and He will exalt you [He will lift you up and make your lives significant].

Chasing demons, coming against people, demanding my preferences, declaring the changes I want to see happen, is exhausting; if not distracting from the true purpose of our calling to be Christ-like.  Yes, I do believe in spiritual warfare, but I question its superior priority in my life.

Ps 139:23-24 Search me [thoroughly], O God, and know my heart! Try me and know my thoughts! 24 And see if there is any wicked or hurtful way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.

HOW TO POSTURE YOURSELF TO BLESS AND CURSE.

Posturing oneself self is critical for completing your calling.  What do I mean by posturing?  Having a resolve to live “in Jesus” my definition of posturing is: a body, soul (mind, will, emotion), and spirit demonstrating an interactive attitude and faith that expresses your competencies.  This is expressed, by in large, by being proactive rather than reactive.  Knowing who you are in Jesus and allowing Holy Spirit to direct your paths, words, actions, attitudes, etc.  Partnering with Holy Spirit, so you can live as Jesus did before Father God. Responding to Holy Spirit, not reacting to people and situations.  Walking according to the dictates of your Holy Spirit-led spirit and not according to your mind, will, and emotions.  Living as a child of God and not a child of this world.  Knowing and doing the right thing, rather than reacting to life as it comes to you. Living by faith and not by sight.  Allowing God to direct you rather than people.  Disciplining yourself to be Christ-like, rather than empowering others to manipulate you into acting like a sinner.  Being teachable, rather than a know-it-all person.  Being grateful, rather than entitled.  Walking in your present, rather than being dictated by your past.  Being an expression of Jesus to the world.

Harbor captains navigate their ships through the channels with the assistance and expertise of a pilot.  Without Holy Spirit guiding us we will wreck the ship every time.  He is our Pilot and He is essential!

Suggestive wordage to describe a proper posture in the Lord (not in order of importance).

I am:

Member of the Royal Family.

A junior partner; Holy Spirit is the Senior Partner.

Child of Father God.

A forgiven, follower of Jesus Christ and a brother to all followers.

I am what the Word of God says I am.

Servant of the Most High God.

Messenger of the Good/God News.

Eternal being.

Born-again believer in Jesus.

Vessel of honor and praise unto the Lord.

I was a sinner but now I am being saved, sanctified and filled with Holy Spirit.

Humility is my power-banner and I war against pride.

I am a channel for Father God to manifest His Kingdom through.

I am more than an overcomer, being empowered by Holy Spirit.

Gal 5:16-17 But I say, walk and live [habitually] in the [Holy] Spirit [responsive to and controlled and guided by the Spirit]; then you will certainly not gratify the cravings and desires of the flesh (of human nature without God). 17 For the desires of the flesh are opposed to the [Holy] Spirit, and the [desires of the] Spirit are opposed to the flesh (godless human nature); for these are antagonistic to each other [continually withstanding and in conflict with each other], so that you are not free but are prevented from doing what you desire to do.

Life and death are in the power of the tongue.  Without holiness and humility, the tongue can only generate death.

Prov 18:21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and they who indulge in it shall eat the fruit of it [for death or life].

The challenge is to live a life pleasing to God, so that, our words will carry Holy Spirit’s power to its intended target.

WHAT PRIORITY SHOULD THIS PROACTIVE POSTURE TAKE IN OUR DAILY LIVES?

Being proactive must be balanced with submission and humility unto the Royal Family.  We are called to be obedient, teachable, adaptable warriors.  The picture of a Knight in shining armor, bowing before the king, says volumes.  We express authority and power as we are directed to do so.  As mighty men and women of God, we are called to fight the good fight of faith and be willing to sacrifice our lives for the cause of Christ.

Rev 12:11 And they have overcome (conquered) him by means of the blood of the Lamb and by the utterance of their testimony, for they did not love and cling to life even when faced with death [holding their lives cheap till they had to die for their witnessing].

In our prayer life, our proactive posture must be maintained when facing our enemies.  When we are conversing with the Royal Family, we are secure and there is no need to maintain a warrior stance.  We can and must be transparent; disclosing the very secrets of our hearts.  We are not before God to prove anything.  We are there to develop our love relationship and glorify Them.

Can we know, sense, realize, comprehend the success of my proactive posturing?

Success is not a matter of seeing the enemy defeated.  It is a matter of walking in faith, following Holy Spirit’s directives.  Functioning as an intimate partner we focus on giving Him the glory, rather than bathing in self-victory.  Our victory is living vicariously in His victory.  We win when Holy Spirit wins.  He wins when Jesus is exalted and Father is glorified.  When the children of God exemplify and magnify the Royal Family, everybody wins.

So, can we know when our proactive posture has realized victory?  Yes, when our spirit bears witness that the Royal Family is exalted.  When righteousness and holiness prevail.  When the Word of God and its truths are manifested.  Yes, when Spirit-led prayers are answered.  Yes, when pride plays no part in the victory.

What positive effects will this proactive posture have on you?

> Doing good to and for others is very rewarding.

> Staying positive in your approach to life.

> Being positioned above and not beneath life.

> Operating in the atmosphere and arena of love and out of love.

> Showing the world, you are not a servant of the world and sin.

> Walking by faith and trusting Holy Spirit to work in the lives of others.

> Taking “self” out of the fight.

> We wrestle not against flesh and blood, but the power of words.

> Showing others, you are not playing their game of life, thereby stopping the drama.

> You feel good about being an overcomer.

> Being real and not reactive, helps sustain you as a person.

> Expressing Father’s character builds our relationship with the Royal Family.

QUESTION: Do we want to live as an integrated part of this world, and its destiny, or as a liberated partaker of what exists in God?  Separated in Him as Royalty, or separated from Him, unquestionably alone for eternity?

IN CONCLUSION:

At times, it is valuable to reexamine our position and posture in Jesus.  Is our constant enemy Lucifer or pride, or someone else?  Are we being proactive out of self-authority or the directives Holy Spirit gives us?  Do we really understand the power and authority of humility and blessing others?  Does our ship have a pilot, other than ourselves?

My wife asked me if it is possible to live this word.  My ONLY response was, “I’m not fully, but I would love to.”

My intention is NOT to raise doubts but to challenge us to explore the infinite possibilities of an intimate relationship with the Royal Family.  We live for Them, They live in us.

Additional supportive scriptures:

1 Cor 13:13 And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.

Heb 6:4-5 For it is impossible [to restore and bring again to repentance] those who have been once for all enlightened, who have consciously tasted the heavenly gift and have become sharers of the Holy Spirit, 5 And have felt how good the Word of God is and the mighty powers of the age and world to come,

Col 2:13-15 And you who were dead in trespasses and in the uncircumcision of your flesh (your sensuality, your sinful carnal nature), [God] brought to life together with [Christ], having [freely] forgiven us all our transgressions, 14 Having cancelled and blotted out and wiped away the handwriting of the note (bond) with its legal decrees and demands which was in force and stood against us (hostile to us). This [note with its regulations, decrees, and demands] He set aside and cleared completely out of our way by nailing it to [His] cross. 15 [God] disarmed the principalities and powers that were ranged against us and made a bold display and public example of them, in triumphing over them in Him and in it [the cross].

Eph 6:11-13 Put on God’s whole armor [the armor of a heavy-armed soldier which God supplies], that you may be able successfully to stand up against [all] the strategies and the deceits of the devil.  12 For we are not wrestling with flesh and blood [contending only with physical opponents], but against the despotisms, against the powers, against [the master spirits who are] the world rulers of this present darkness, against the spirit forces of wickedness in the heavenly (supernatural) sphere. 13 Therefore put on God’s complete armor, that you may be able to resist and stand your ground on the evil day [of danger], and, having done all [the crisis demands], to stand [firmly in your place].

Rom 8:37-39 Yet amid all these things we are more than conquerors and gain a surpassing victory through Him Who loved us.  38 For I am persuaded beyond doubt (am sure) that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities, nor things impending and threatening nor things to come, nor powers, 39 Nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

* The battle is to separate us from the love of God, for God’s love overcomes all.

2 Tim 1:7 For God did not give us a spirit of timidity (of cowardice, of craven and cringing and fawning fear), but [He has given us a spirit] of power and of love and of calm and well-balanced mind and discipline and self-control.

Eccl 10:20-11:1 Curse not the king, no, not even in your thoughts, and curse (despise) not the rich in your bedchamber, for a bird of the air will carry the voice, and a winged creature will tell the matter.

Matt 26:74 Then Peter began to invoke a curse on himself and to swear, I do not even know the Man! And at that moment a rooster crowed.

Acts 23:12-15 Now when daylight came, the Jews formed a plot and bound themselves by an oath and under a curse neither to eat nor drink till they had done away with Paul. 13 There were more than forty [men of them], who formed this conspiracy [swearing together this oath and curse]. 14 And they went to the chief priests and elders, saying, We have strictly bound ourselves by an oath and under a curse not to taste any food until we have slain Paul.  15 So now you, along with the council (Sanhedrin), give notice to the commandant to bring [Paul] down to you, as if you were going to investigate his case more accurately. But we [ourselves] are ready to slay him before he comes near.

Rom 12:12-18 Rejoice and exult in hope; be steadfast and patient in suffering and tribulation; be constant in prayer. 13 Contribute to the needs of God’s people [sharing in the necessities of the saints]; pursue the practice of hospitality. 14 Bless those who persecute you [who are cruel in their attitude toward you]; bless and do not curse them. 15 Rejoice with those who rejoice [sharing others’ joy], and weep with those who weep [sharing others’ grief]. 16 Live in harmony with one another; do not be haughty (snobbish, high-minded, exclusive), but readily adjust yourself to [people, things] and give yourselves to humble tasks. Never overestimate yourself or be wise in your own conceits.  [Prov 3:7.]  17 Repay no one evil for evil, but take thought for what is honest and proper and noble [aiming to be above reproach] in the sight of everyone. 18 If possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.

Gal 3:13 Christ purchased our freedom [redeeming us] from the curse (doom) of the Law [and its condemnation] by [Himself] becoming a curse for us, for it is written [in the Scriptures], Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree (is crucified)

James 3:8-18 But the human tongue can be tamed by no man. It is a restless (undisciplined, irreconcilable) evil, full of deadly poison. 9 With it we bless the Lord and Father, and with it we curse men who were made in God’s likeness! 10 Out of the same mouth come forth blessing and cursing. These things, my brethren, ought not to be so. 11 Does a fountain send forth [simultaneously] from the same opening fresh water and bitter? 12 Can a fig tree, my brethren, bear olives, or a grapevine figs? Neither can a salt spring furnish fresh water. 13 Who is there among you who is wise and intelligent? Then let him by his noble living show forth his [good] works with the [unobtrusive] humility [which is the proper attribute] of true wisdom. 14 But if you have bitter jealousy (envy) and contention (rivalry, selfish ambition) in your hearts, do not pride yourselves on it and thus be in defiance of and false to the Truth. 15 This [superficial] wisdom is not such as comes down from above, but is earthly, unspiritual (animal), even devilish (demoniacal). 16 For wherever there is jealousy (envy) and contention (rivalry and selfish ambition), there will also be confusion (unrest, disharmony, rebellion) and all sorts of evil and vile practices. 17 But the wisdom from above is first of all pure (undefiled); then it is peace-loving, courteous (considerate, gentle). [It is willing to] yield to reason, full of compassion and good fruits; it is wholehearted and straightforward, impartial and unfeigned (free from doubts, wavering, and insincerity). 18 And the harvest of righteousness (of conformity to God’s will in thought and deed) is [the fruit of the seed] sown in peace by those who work for and make peace [in themselves and in others, that peace which means concord, agreement, and harmony between individuals, with undisturbedness, in a peaceful mind free from fears and agitating passions and moral conflicts].
