Be Ready for the Oil From Your Labors

In your season of preparation, worship, fasting, prayer, praise, sacrifices, etc., all produce an oil that you’ve labored for. Personal faith, repentance, baptism, personal holiness, personal service, and personal preparedness cannot be borrowed! There is a cost for the oil, and you cannot just give that away.

Matthew 25:1-13 (NKJV)

This is an awesome passage of scripture; however, I wanted to highlight verse 10 which says, “And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the wedding; and the door was shut.”

The unprepared will be excluded from the marriage feast. The foolish virgins had time to prepare. They could have gotten their oil, but instead, they chose to slumber and sleep. They did not realize that they were wasting time. I guess it’s safe to say that the wise virgins could have slept because they had prepared themselves. It is refreshing when you can truly rest from your labor. The wise prepared and rested, but the foolish rested having done nothing to prepare themselves.

So why wouldn’t the wise virgins lend oil to the foolish virgins? Why not help those in need? The situation is more complex than you might think!

Personal faith, repentance, baptism, personal holiness, personal service, and personal preparedness cannot be borrowed! Your seasons—preparation, worship, fasting, prayer, praise, sacrifices, etc.—all produce an oil that you labored for. There is a cost for the oil, and you cannot just give it away. It’s just like that on a job. No employer will pay for what you have not done or labored for. There is a major cost for the manifestation which you shall receive that only has your name on it. You did what was required to receive it. Be ready!

Prayer:
Father, I pray that we will be a ready and prepared people in Jesus’s name. I ask that we would seek first Your Kingdom and Your righteousness, that all things will be added unto us. I overthrow the plans of Satan to distract and detour us from that which we should be doing. May we be those that are wise and not foolish, for You have called us wise.

I declare that we are not a people that are confused as to what we should be doing before Your return in Jesus’s name. You are not the author of confusion but of peace. I thank You that we have great discernment in this season. We shall know when to rest and when to prepare. I pray and ask that the door not be shut before us, but may we be instant in season and out of season, ready to walk in at any moment. In Jesus’s name, I pray. Amen.
