Be A Blessing

Posted on

Do we realize what’s inside of us?  Do we understand how we can bless one another, in many ways?  Here’s what Jesus says about you, as His beloved:  “You are a garden locked up, my sister, my bride; you are a spring enclosed, a sealed fountain.  You are a garden fountain, a well of flowing water streaming down from Lebanon.”  (Song of Solomon 4: 12, 15)

There is a well flowing inside of you.  His name is Jesus, our Living Water.

Here are some ways we can practice what He’s told us, and let Him flow out of us:

  • Practice what you preach.  (Matthew 23: 3)
  • Don’t lose your place of honor at banquets by wanting the most important seats.  (Matthew 23: 6)
  • The greatest among us will be His servant.  Matthew 23: 11)
  • Whoever exalts himself, will be humbled.  Whoever humbles himself will be exalted.  (Matthew 23: 12)
  • Don’t shut the Kingdom of heaven in men’s faces.  (Matthew 23: 13)
  • Remember more important matters of the law–justice, mercy, and faithfulness.  (Matthew 23: 23)
  • Don’t strain out a gnat, but swallow a camel.  (Matthew 23:  24)

“How can I curse those whom God has not cursed?  How can I denounce those whom the Lord has not denounced?”  (Numbers 23: 7-8)  God kept Balaam from pronouncing a curse.  He had been hired to pronounce a curse.  He yielded to what the Lord said to do.  Having a donkey speak to you, would definitely confirm that God was trying to get your attention and meant business.

Must we not speak what the Lord puts in our mouth.”  (Numbers 23: 12)

  • The power of life or death is in the tongue.

Bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.”  (Luke 6: 28)

  • Meet with the Lord.  He will tell you what to say and do.

Baalam met with the Lord and He said:  “God is not a man that He should lie, nor a son of man, that He should change his mind.  Does He speak, then not act?  Does He promise and not fulfill?  I have received a command to bless, what He has blessed, and I cannot change it.”  (Numbers 23: 19-20)

  • Know the integrity of His Word.
  • The command to bless is God’s heart.

God is unlocking gifts to be poured out and used for His purposes.  You are that blessing!

(Song of Songs 3: 6-5: 1, Matthew 23: 1-12, Numbers 22: 41-23: 26)
