Idols
I got to thinking about anything in my life that I might idolize. Sometimes we don’t even realize that we have added idols to our life.

I got to thinking about anything in my life that I might idolize. Sometimes we don’t even realize that we have added idols to our life.
We are running out of time daily to get things right. There is no time for regrets or shame. Each decision we make matters.
One Sunday I tithed 10% of my paycheck and I just had no idea how I was going to make it on what I had. It wasn’t a week later I received checks from five different places.
Then you reach the top. The car tilts, getting ready to plummet down the track. You know it is going to happen fast. It’s going to go one way or the other.
We were hooked on the empty promises and the heavenly picture in front of us. Our heads were in a tailspin. We felt like we were staring into the eyes of paradise. “Just sign right here,” he said.
I went and quickly grabbed myself a full cup of water and gulped it down. And then I went back for more. I didn’t realize how thirsty I had truly become.
Nobody should feel like they cannot show up to church because they don’t have nice enough clothes to wear or they are stuck in a lifestyle of sin but don’t know how to get out. Come anyway.
Taking every thought captive is definitely not something I have mastered. I still have times where I question my thoughts. I wonder: how did I allow this to happen again?
Don’t allow your mind to be the devil’s playground. You have power and forgiveness in the name of Jesus Christ. You have been made new.
We are to be salt and light in the world, but we should remember that who we are out there to everyone else should also be who we are here at home.
