Ever since I was a little girl I was always drawn to water and sunlight. My Dad was a Merchant Marine in the Armed Services. Salt and “Fresh Water” were in his blood, in his veins.
He loved taking us to the ocean each and every summer, sometimes twice in one summer. He would often come home from work and say to my mother, “Pack up the kids and let’s go to the beach. I’m off for a couple of weeks.” We would go, after my Mom grumbled a bit, without motel reservations, (not hotels, they were for the upper class back then). Hours later, we would arrive looking for lodging. If the sign said “No Vacancy,” we would keep driving till a place had opened up. He was consistent in His pursuit. The Father’s call and draw to the water always won!
Even in my adult years, I’m still being drawn to the waters. Throughout my life, any stream or body of water I often find myself in front of. I love, love, love water! As a Christian, I’m continually drawn to water, now, the Living Water, Jesus.
As we grow, as a believer, the Spirit of God, who is alive and active, is still drawing His children to the waters. I propose to you here’s why? “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, AND the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.” Genesis 1: 2
KINGDOM POINT: The Holy Spirit hovers and covers.
The Spirit of God was active in creation AND His creative power continues today. He hovered over all of creation, why wouldn’t He hover over us today? We are part of creation, His creation.
“The Spirit of God has made me; the breath of the Almighty gives me new life.” Job 33: 4 I never really thought of the Spirit being part of creating me. Did you? The Trinity was intricately involved during creation. Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are one.
Another reference to the Spirit creating is: “When you send your Spirit, they are created and you renew the face of the earth.” Psalm 104: 30
KINGDOM ELEMENT: Yes, the Spirit restores, replenishes, and renews.
The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit all are part of the creation, making all things new. Hovering, creating, and renewing is His position and role.
When a helicopter hovers, it is looking for a landing strip. Let Him land. The Father is still drawing and calling.
