Do we remind ourselves that Jesus shall come to the earth, once again? Yes, as believers, we should! The darker the world gets the more we realize how we need Him.
His return has been promised! It’s in many places in the Bible and in the parable of the fig tree. He said this: “Haven’t you observed that when the fig tree, or any tree, buds and blooms, the season is changing and summer is near? In the same way, when you see these prophetic signs occupying, you realize the earth is yielding to the fullness of God’s Kingdom. I assure you, the end of this age will not come until all I have spoken has come to pass. Earth and sky will wear out and fade away before one word I spoke loses its power or fails to accomplish its purpose.” (Luke 21: 29-33)
The entire chapter speaks of the end of the age. But, what I want to highlight is that this will not occur until all that was spoken forth will come to pass.
Yes, we must affirm and be reassured that “Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will never pass away.”
Let’s think about that! Oh, the power of God’s words! Jesus said, He “Did not come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; but to fulfill them.” (Matthew 5: 17)
KINGDOM KEY: He is not only bringing to pass all He has spoken, but all He is. Why?
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning.” (John 1: 1-2)
I learned that the Greeks used this term, (the Word), not only of the spoken word, but also of the unspoken word, the word still in the mind–the reason. To the Jews, this word was used as referring to God. John wanted to relate to both Gentile and Jew, so it was appropriate to apply this term for both.
Isaiah, the prophet, talked about this saying, “As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, so is My Word that goes out from My mouth: It will not return to Me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.” (Isaiah 55: 10-11)
KINGDOM KEY: The Word is coming again; coming to fulfill all that was spoken, for all to be accomplished and with purpose.
