How can we be assured and confident with a confidence that is unshakable? We can accomplish this only through Jesus!
This encourages us and is worth repeating: “So now, beloved ones, stand firm, stable and enduring. Live your lives with an unshakable confidence. We know that we prosper and excel in every season by serving the Lord, because we are assured that our union with the Lord makes our labor productive with fruit that endures.” (1 Corinthians 15: 58)
I used the same scripture recently, but when I revisited it, another thing was highlighted by the Holy Spirit. Don’t you love how He points things out at different times and in different ways? Oh, the wisdom and fullness of our God!
How do we excel in this confidence?
There is only one way, by being in union with the Lord. He will make our labor productive with fruit that remains and endures.
KINGDOM KEY: God wants us to excel and prosper, not just once in a while, but in every season.
If we try to be productive on our own, without His union, we are not serving the Lord, but serving our own desires.
How can we discern the difference? If we want ALL the glory to go to God, we are serving Him. Many folks are productive in the world but are more concerned about serving their egos, bank accounts, and climbing the corporate ladder. Hear me in this! It’s not wrong to be productive in the corporate world, but it’s wrong to not be thankful and not recognize that God has given man the ability to produce wealth.
Some may say to themselves, “My power and the strength of my hands have produced this wealth for me.” But remember the LORD your God, for it is He who gives you the ability to produce wealth…” (Deuteronomy 8: 18)
-
Recognize that God gave us the ability to produce.
-
Only our union with Him will produce fruit that endures.
-
We must trust Him in this.
-
Acquiring unshakable confidence only comes from the Lord.
So now, beloved, stand firm, stable, and endure. God wants us to live our lives in Him, to receive that unshakable confidence.
“So do not throw away this confident trust in the Lord. Remember the great, great reward it brings you!” (Hebrews 10: 35)
