I’ve been pondering on this one phrase “Prepare Him Room.” This phrase is kind of different, isn’t it? So what does it mean? Remember the song “Joy To The World?” This phrase is part of the chorus that is:
“Joy to the world the Lord has come. Let every heart prepare Him room, and heaven and nature sing.”
As we are making room in our hearts to prepare for Christ’s coming, His birth, and His second coming? Remember He shall come again.
If you are or were in a traditional church, you recall the wreath that was displayed in the front of the sanctuary. Each week the Pastor or Priest would light the candle in preparations of celebrating Christmas the day our Savior was born.
Choose to prepare room for this Christmas season, and don’t let the busyness of the season crowd Him out.
Prophetically, when the time came for this baby, the Christ-child, to be born, He was “…Placed in a manger for there was no room for Him…” (Luke 2: 6)
The place for Jesus to rest, and be born was to have a place in our hearts; we call that being born again.
Reflect on God’s gift to us, all wrapped in a manger, Jesus, the Savior of the world. Let’s reflect on the words of John:
“He was not born by the joining of human parents or from natural means, or by a man’s desire, but He was born of God. And so the living expression became a man and lived among us. And we gazed upon the splendor of His glory, the glory of the One and Only who came from the Father overflowing with tender mercy and truth.” (John 1: 13-14)
Think about what God did for us. God came down to us by becoming one of us.
Oh, dear friends, our identity is in Him!
We as believers first prepare for His birth, who came as a baby to take away the sin of the world. We also prepare for His second coming, not as a baby, but as a King.
We were told: “No one whose hope is in you will ever be put to shame.” (Psalm 25: 3)
Jesus Christ is the HOPE of the world.
How Do We Receive Hope?
“See how very much our father loves us, for He calls us His children and that is what we are! But the people who belong to this world don’t recognize that we are God’s children because they don’t recognize that we are God’s children because they don’t know Him.” (1 John 3: 1-2)
Do You Know Him–not just know about Him?
“Dear friends, we are already God’s children, but He has not yet shown us what we will be like when Christ appears. But we do know that we will be like Him for we will see Him as He really is. And all who have this HOPE, will keep themselves pure, just as He is pure.” (1 John 3: 3)
How Do We Maintain This Hope?
Hold on to Jesus, He is our anchor of hope, any other kind of hope is false hope.
“We have this certain hope like a strong, unbreakable anchor holding our souls to God Himself. Our anchor of hope is fastened to the Mercy Seat in the heavenly realm beyond the sacred threshold and where Jesus our forerunner, has gone in before us.” (Hebrews 6: 19-20)
I like looking up different translations. Here’s what another Translation says: “His hope is real and true, an anchor to steady our restless souls, a hope that leads us back.” (Hebrews 6: 19-20 Voice)
This hope enters the Presence behind the veil where Jesus has entered for us.
His presence brings hope.
As we conclude our explanation of hope, hold on to hope; hold on to Jesus, our anchor.
Let Him anchor you in His presence.
His presence will release hope as we spend time with Him. I found this acronym describing this anchor of hope:
Hold
On to His
Promises
Each day.
