Are We Standing in Assurance of All the Will of God?

There is more than just accepting Jesus as Savior; He wants to be Savior and Lord.

Do we stand firm in all the will of God?

I saw this scripture recently, and this one little word, all, was highlighted.    Paul had been speaking to the Colossian church sending his greetings.  He tells them that, “Epaphras, who is one of you a servant of Christ Jesus, sends greetings.  He is always wrestling in prayer for you that you may stand firm in all the will of God, mature and fully assured.”  (Colossians 4: 12)

The maturity Paul is speaking about is a maturity in the Holy Spirit–One who is a wise developed Christian assured who they are in the Lord and what they carry.

Since I was stuck on this phrase, all the will of God, I sought out other translations.  Here are what some of them showed me:

  • “Standing complete and perfect in the beauty of God’s plan for your lives.”  (TPT)
  • “Stand tall in the kind of confidence that comes from knowing God’s will.”  (The Voice)
  • “People of character and courage, stand firm (spiritually mature) and fully assured in all the will of God.  (Amp)
  • “Be completely convinced of everything that God wants.”  (GW)
  • “Be confident of everything God wants you to do.  (Msg)

As we look at all of God’s will, we see that there is more to just accepting Jesus as Savior; He wants to be Savior and Lord.

My favorite translation that is listed above said, “Be confident of everything God wants us to do.”

Accepting Him is the beginning of our walk, there’s more!  Jesus has called us to build His Kingdom.  How do we do that?  By using our God-given gifts.

There is a place as a mature believer that God wants us to walk in.

Our message is not with just wise and persuasive words, but with demonstration of the Spirit’s power, so that our faith might not rest on man’s wisdom, but on God’s power.”  (1 Corinthians 2: 4)

Does our Christianity reflect a demonstration of the Spirit’s power?

Are we laying our hands on the sick to recover?  These works were not just to be implemented in Biblical days.  Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

Paul prayed, “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”  (Romans 15: 13)

I suggest to you that “Standing firm in all the will of God” is released and demonstrated in the power of the Holy Spirit in an overflow capacity.

KINGDOM KEY:  God didn’t fill us to waste all He deposited.  He filled us to spill us, that’s overflow.
