April’s Open Door

Fragrance, fruit, and fire will mark the days ahead as we walk through the open door of April.

As I waited upon the Lord I saw the month of April before me. A wind blew upon it and it suddenly became an open door into a beautiful fragrant garden that brought an immediate sense of hope and joy to my soul.

As this April door blew open I heard the verse from Song of Solomon 4:16,

Awake, north wind! Rise up, south wind! Blow on my garden and spread its fragrance all around. Come into your garden, my love; taste its finest fruits.

I saw the wind as the breath of God, the Ruach— as his breath was released upon his sons and daughters— new life, even resurrection life, came upon them. A fragrance, like a garden in full bloom, came forth from them that filled the earth. I saw each son and daughter take their place as a part of this garden that was filled with fragrant blossoms and sweet fruits. The smell went beyond the garden into the world.

When I saw this I was suddenly aware that most in the world had lost their sense of smell and their sense of taste (just like what happens when many contract Covid). They had lost their sense of smell and taste for God. The Lord created every man and woman with the senses to seek after him but the thief had stolen their senses.

When the wind blew this door open, not only did God’s children come into full bloom but the fragrance and taste of the Lord upon their lives began to awaken the senses of those who had lost their senses.

I saw prodigals returning as they “came to their senses.” I saw “seekers” suddenly finding their scent and finding what they were seeking. They were like dogs who had been following a scent but had lost it and were walking in circles— but suddenly they found the scent once again and it led them to salvation.

I saw many of God’s sons and daughters longing for passion and purpose. When this wind blew, it awakened them like a wind coming upon a smoldering ember that was very near to going out. But this wind caused it to turn bright amber with the glow and burning of his love and presence. Suddenly the dry and barren place that they had been in caught fire and they burned with passion and purpose to carry his glory, his fragrance, and his fire. They became a great fire that could not be contained.

Fragrance, fruit, and fire will mark the days ahead as we walk through the open door of April. The breath (wind) of God will sovereignly open this door and it will be like when the stone was rolled away from the tomb of our Savior. His Ecclesia will come forth with fragrance, fruitfulness and great fire. Resurrection power will be upon us once again.

Where much of the world viewed the church as a tomb with a stone at its entrance— they will begin to see an open door that is releasing the scent that they have longed for and they will find the treasure that they have been searching for. No longer will it be a place that represents dead works but it will be a garden of life full of the choicest fruits and a fire that will ignite passion and purpose within them. Even tongues of fire will fall once again and salvation will fall upon people as they merely walk into the fragrant atmosphere.

Altars will be so full in the days to come that his people will create altars in barns, tents, fields, farms, parking lots and even in theaters. Living rooms will become altars where salvation comes to the young and the old. Even front yards will become churches where entire neighborhoods are transformed by the fire falling upon them.

“Not by power, not by might but by my Spirit” says the Lord
Zechariah 4:6

Begin to call for the wind of the Spirit to blow! Call for the fire of the Spirit to fall and to ignite! Call for the Spirit and the bride to say, “Come!”

The Spirit and the bride say, “Come.” Let anyone who hears this say, “Come.” Let anyone who is thirsty come. Let anyone who desires drink freely from the water of life.
Revelation 22:17

Come, north wind! Rise up, south wind! Blow on my garden and spread its fragrance all around!
