Do we ask for God’s fullness? I know we ask for His best, but do we dare ask for more?
The truth is that when we are, “In Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form, you have been given fullness in Christ, who is the head over every power and authority.” (Colossians 2: 9-10)
- The complete essence of Deity is in Jesus.
- In Christ offers no deficiency.
- In Christ is completeness.
God has made us alive in Christ. No more separation nor deficiency. “He forgave all our sins having cancelled the written code, with its regulations, that was against us; He took it away, nailing it to the cross.” (Colossians 2: 13-14)
Not only has He nailed all of our sins to the cross, but He, “Disarmed the powers and authorities, made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross.” (Colossians 2: 15)

Take Up A Lament Where Glory Is Lacking
Ezekiel is asked by God to take up a lament for Tyre, which is now a modern city on the Mediterranean coast of southern Lebanon. He starts his prophecy by saying, “You say, O Tyre, I am perfect in beauty. Your domain was on the high seas; your builders brought your beauty to perfection.” (Ezekiel 27: 3-4)
- God has a domain for His people, a God-given domain.
He tells of how they (the people of Tyre) will one day be no more. After Ezekiel addresses the people, God tells him to speak to the ruler of Tyre, “In the pride of your heart you say, I am a god; I sit on the throne of god in the heart of the seas. But you are a man not a god, though you think you are as wise as a god.” (Ezekiel 28: 2)
Ezekiel begins his description of the actual king of Tyre but then seems to transition to the original fall of Satan. Hear the description that Ezekiel brings. I’ll highlight a few points; I suggest you read the entire chapter to see the personification of Lucifer before called Satan.
Ezekiel says: “You were the model of perfection, full of wisdom and perfect in beauty. You were in Eden, the garden of God. You were anointed as a guardian cherub, for so I ordained you. You were on the holy mount of God you walked among the fiery stone. (Ezekiel 28: 12-14)
Originally, “You were blameless in your ways from the day you were created till wickedness was found in you. So, I drove you in disgrace from the mount of God, and I expelled you, O guardian cherub, from among the fiery stone. Your heart has become proud. (Ezekiel 28: 19, 16-16)
- Pride goes before a fall.
- Lucifer is a fallen angel.
- Pride is always rooted in evil.
Tyre was filled with violence and wickedness, which is rooted in evil, as well.

Fullness Seen in God’s Glory
Fullness brings forth praise. “Sing, O barren woman, you who never bore a child; burst into song, shout for joy, you who were never in labor; because more are the children of the desolate woman than of her who has a husband, says the Lord. (Isaiah 54: 1)
Isaiah tells her to “Enlarge the place of your tent; stretch your tent curtains wide, do not hold back; lengthen your cords, strengthen your stakes. (Isaiah 54: 2)
- Within God’s fullness is expansion.
- Fullness demands expansion.
Think about a balloon when filled with water. It becomes so full, it demands stretching and expansion. When overflow occurs, it pours out everywhere.
Fullness Brings Peace
“Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed, says the Lord, who has compassion on you.” (Isaiah 54: 10)
- Fullness brings overflow.
