Abundance

There is something inside of us that longs for wholeness because we are made to pursue holiness—to be holy.

In July, I woke up and heard the word clearly in my head — Abundance.

I sat down with my journal and began to press into what I was hearing and feeling from God in this simple word, which could easily mean so much.

I felt that in this time, there is an abundance of God being poured out for us to receive — these are the blessings of ALL that He is.

He is Peace.
He is Joy.
He is Hope.
He is Patience.
He is Victory.
And most of all… He is Love.

In order to receive the abundance that God is giving us in this time, we must have open hands — and sometimes to have open hands, we must be willing to let go.

I don’t know about you, but the last month I’ve felt particularly robbed of many of these things: Stress and anxiety rob my peace; depression has often robbed me of joy; situations have occurred where I felt completely hopeless, asking God, “Can I get through this?”

As I previously wrote, I’m going through a season of intense inner healing. I know this is not only me going through this, as I see God moving a lot in many lives at the moment. I believe He is over it all, surfacing things to heal us as his children. We are made in His image, and His desire is for us to be whole. I don’t believe we will ever be perfectly whole in this world, but that’s okay… I’ll take it layer by layer, and revelation by revelation.

There is something inside of us that longs for wholeness because we are made to pursue holiness—to be holy. My body is a living sacrifice—a Temple for the most High—and although the “surfacing” is a scary and painful thing to go through — I am thankful for it. Because it will only take me to deeper healing.

After journaling, I asked myself, “What are in my hands in this time (metaphorically speaking) that I need to let go of?” I saw reins, like that of a horse, and heard the word “control.” I also heard the word “distractions” and “negativity.”

It’s funny that all this happened on the 1st of July, because I’d actually felt for a few weeks prior that I should do a social media fast. I had been preparing for it, announcing it and making sure people had my number or email, and I knew I would start on July 1st.
I was actually starting to look forward to it, even though I knew it would be really hard to get out of the habit of using Facebook and Instagram for social purposes (although I’d still be using these for business announcements and such).

I decided to paint this word I heard from God, because I know many of us may be going through similar situations, and if something I hear from God blesses me, I want to share it for others to receive as well. So here is my latest painting, titled: Abundance.

I actually painted this from an old pallet that I used while painting my last work. I ended up mixing the colors together, then letting it dry before painting the final image overtop. During this process, God was speaking to me about the process he does within us — taking something that was a mess, and blending it to make a beautiful masterpiece… if we allow Him to.

One day into the start of my social media fast, I found myself able to be more present in things and enjoying life a bit more for what it is… a beautiful moment.

I noticed when things happened, I’d want to share it to my Instagram story- but instead, I was able to just stop, rest, and enjoy it.

So, if you’re still reading, I want to ask you—what’s in your hands?

God is pouring out all of these blessings over you, just waiting for you to receive. Is there an area you feel robbed in? Maybe grab a journal, and press in. Ask God what is in your hands that is keeping you from receiving all He has for you—and then just begin to write down what you hear, feel, or see. You deserve the abundance that is being showered over you.

Much love,
Camille

About the Author

Hello, my name is Sarah Camille Soltani Icely. I have been an artist since I can remember; always drawing and painting in my free time. Once I knew how to write, I began to journal and soon found a passion for poetry. I have always loved and believed in Jesus, but it wasn’t until my late teens/early twenties that I truly started to know Holy Spirit. This is where I say my true walk with God began.
After this time, I began to hear the Spirit through my paintings, and the things I heard and felt in these times later became the poems I wrote to take people deeper into the meaning of each art piece. Painting is how I worship my Creator; Not only because He is the one who blessed me with these gifts, but because He is the love of my life; the one who gives me strength in every storm I face. In these times of painting and writing, where He speaks to me so deeply, my biggest hope is that my art can be used to bring others the same encouragement, faith, hope, truth, and love that this time with Him brings to me.
