The Kingdom Winds crew shares a deep passion to partner with our collective members to advance the Kingdom!
Gary Suess, President and Co-Founder
Gary is the co-founder of Kingdom Winds along with his wife, Beth. He has been a serial entrepreneur since graduating from college. The majority of his career has been spent building and leading successful, mortgage-banking businesses, including those of some of the nation's largest banks. It was during this time that Gary became recognized as one of the industry's top innovators in e-business, direct marketing, customer experience, and strategic partnerships. More recently, he has channeled those passions and skills into the creation of a full-service marketing agency and, now, the formation of Kingdom Winds. Overall, creating and passionately pursuing new ideas flow naturally from Gary’s Campaigner (ENFP) personality type.
Outside the world of bits and bytes, business models, and branding, Gary has maintained a lifelong love for sports, music, art, reading, writing, pizza, and cats. Both his personal and professional endeavors have been marked by a passion to create. Whether pursuing business, leisure, ministry, or simply hanging out with friends and family, Gary counts it all joy with a life anchored in faith, filled with the deep love and friendship of God. All of the above helped to inspire a new book entitled Joy All Around Us, which he co-authored with Beth and their daughter.
Elizabeth Suess, Vice-President and Co-Founder
Elizabeth (but you can call her Beth) considers herself a “crazy cat-lady,” mostly minus the “crazy.” As empty nesters, Gary and Beth can now justify filling their home with furry felines. Beth cut her professional teeth in the banking world and is thrilled to now be surrounded by writers and other creatives, furthering the Kingdom. Her long-standing love of books is evident in both the use of her free time and the overflowing bookshelves within their home. Although Beth occasionally still enjoys a gripping novel, most of her current reading is focused on expanding her understanding of Father and growing in Him.
When she is not in her home office, you may very well find her in their workout room, lifting weights, another lifelong passion. Please don’t ask her about cardio. One of her greatest joys is helping collective members realize both their God-given potential and dreams. As a Consul (ESFJ), Beth is comfortable in her role as evangelist for KW. She believes encouragement is one of our highest callings and would love to sit down with you to enjoy a glass of green tea and listen to your story.
Rachael Weisinger, Writing Coach
Rachael holds a Bachelor’s degree in English and a Master’s degree in Literacy from Furman University where she also became certified as a literacy coach. Currently, she works as an ELA teacher in Greenville County full-time. But her favorite edits come into play when she's helping Kingdom Winds Publishing clients with their manuscripts. There's no greater coaching than encouraging a potential writer to develop his/her work for God's Kingdom!
When she’s not teaching or coaching, Rachael loves to watch films, play board games, and do some writing herself. You can check out her debut book on Kingdom Winds, called Gluten-Free Mac & Cheese.
Kassandra Russell, Digital Media Associate and Outreach Specialist
Kassi Russell has fulfilled some childhood dreams, including being the first in her family to graduate college, having a big family (an amazing husband of 12 years + four kids), and two cross country road trips. But her greatest dream thus far is witnessing others fulfill their dreams, specifically creatives! As a former dancer, singer, and writer Kassi knows both the joy and heartache of finding a place in this world artistically. The Lord has given her a passion for dreaming big with others and practically helping creatives become the best possible version of themselves.
Kassi and her big family are now planted back in Greenville, SC where her story actually began. In her limited but sacred free time she enjoys exercise, nature, and visiting used bookstores or music shops to search for treasure. When the Father connected her to Kingdom Winds, her passions collided with the vision instantly. She now works with the team as a Digital Media Associate.
April Boyer, Publishing Associate
April is a Publishing Associate for Kingdom Winds and is excited to be putting into practice the B.A. in English, which she earned from the University of Alabama (Roll Tide!). She also holds a B.A. in Theatre from UA and is working towards an Associate of Applied Science at the Culinary Institute of the Carolinas to grow in knowledge and skill towards one of her other great loves: cooking!
April has been married to her husband, Brad, for 15 years and has two amazing children under the age of 10. Her heart beats for hospitality and, while drinking hot tea or a chai latte, she loves cooking new recipes, perfecting old ones, and honing her knife skills. When she isn’t dicing onions or baking scones, April loves to peregrinate around the world, perambulate in the mountains, read books of heterogeneous genres, and utilize rare, antiquated vocabulary words in sentences.
Rebecca James, Publishing Associate
Becca James is a Publishing Associate for Kingdom Winds and oversees our Contributing Writers. She currently resides in her hometown of Greenville, South Carolina (#yeahTHATgreenville), but she earned an English degree with a Writing minor from Emmanuel College in Georgia. In her free time, Becca enjoys learning the piano, journaling, reading, and playing video games. As a true Campaigner (ENFP), she often spends time with her loved ones, going on adventures and talking about life.
One of her dreams is to journey around the world, and she hopes to purchase a ticket to London, England soon. Currently, Becca’s favorite book genres are mystery and suspense. Her favorite shows are Friends and Sherlock, and she wouldn’t mind drinking a glass of sweet tea or eating her favorite Italian dish (chicken alfredo) with C.S. Lewis and J.M. Barrie because Becca believes in the power of imagination.
Coleman Ott, Contributing Writer
Coleman wants to change the world. Currently in his junior year as a Communication and Arts Management double major at the College of Charleston, his love for the city has soared to romantic heights, while yet considering Spartanburg, SC his home. In addition to writing, Coleman's days typically consist of dancing and singing in all sorts of places, including with the College of Charleston Gospel Choir and the Chucktown Trippintones - a CofC acapella group. Additionally, he enjoys growing with the local music and arts scene through several projects, primarily a video interview series entitled Charlestown Sounds, and the Charlestown Sounds Music Festival. As a next step on his journey of learning how to make a positive impact on the world, he is currently on a European adventure as an exchange student in the Netherlands for one semester.
Rebecca Henderson, Contributing Writer
Rebecca considers it an honor to be a contributing writer for Kingdom Winds. She is passionate about sharing how God has shaped her perspective on life, love, and redemption. God has been faithful beyond anything she ever truly expected. It is her prayer that everyday folks will find faith-building, hope-giving morsels of truth tucked inside her pieces. Life is hard, and she believes that being real is the first step in understanding just what it is we need to thrive.
Rebecca is a certifiably crazy animal lover and shares her home with husband Scott and six cats and dogs. She has two grown sons and a spirited granddaughter who always gives her permission to be a big kid. A Greenville native, Rebecca serves her community as a pediatric dental hygienist and is a kickboxing enthusiast in her free time. While she sincerely wishes that Harry Potter and Hogwarts were real, she is content to read the books and watch the movies as many times as humanly possible. Indulging her love of storytelling with all things fantasy and fun is what keeps her mind young and gives her the occasional escape from reality. Children, after all, have the right idea...love big and have fun.
Forrest Keefer, Contributing Writer
Forrest is a graduate student in Boston, MA, where he studies Philosophy. He's a lifelong reader of everything from ancient history to modern poetry. He thinks music is one of the most important things in life and he loves trying to cook with his family. Forrest is obsessed with ideas and loves how interesting people are.
