A Time For Everything

God is able to turn that season of roughness into a season of beauty.  The timing of when that occurs is what we struggle with.

Imagine a clock halfway covered up with a sheet.  What time would this clock be displaying?  We wouldn’t be able to see what time it was, would we?

  • The time to be revealed is hidden, awaiting to be unveiled.

Doesn’t seasons in our lives seem like this?  If you prefer knowing things “ahead of time” (pun intended), this mental picture may frustrate you.  I’ve learned one thing about time:

  • We are subject to times and changes over which we have little or no control.

Here’s what God says about time:  “There is a time for everything and a season for every activity under heaven.”  (Ecclesiastes 3: 1 )

If you are in a rough season, hold on to this promise:  “He has made everything beautiful in its time.”  (Ecclesiastes 3: 11)

  • God is able to turn that season of roughness into a season of beauty.  The timing of when that occurs is what we struggle with.
  • Our time and God’s time are usually different.

When Jesus appeared on the earth, the people were not in agreement with the timing of God for the Messiah to come.  He asked the disciples, “Who do people say the Son of Man is?  (Matthew 16: 13)  Then He looks at the disciples, personalizing this question asking, “Who do you say I am?”  (Matthew 16: 15)

Peter gets revelation and answers, “You are the Christ, (Messiah), the Son of the Living God.”  (Matthew 16: 16)

  • Walking closely with Jesus releases revelation knowledge.

Jesus answered Peter saying, “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by man, but by My Father in heaven.”  (Matthew 16: 17)

There truly is a time for everything!  There’s a time for everything that happens in our lives, too. Do you believe that?  Our seasons are ordained by God, as a follower of God.

The Lord spoke to Moses and gave him specific names of the men to choose and assist him. He said, “One man from each tribe, each the head of the family is to help you.”  (Numbers 1: 4)  All were able to serve in the army.

  • We need to see ourselves as the army of God, willing, and able to serve.
  • God is still big enough to give specific directions and names to leaders about who to choose to assist.

He even arranged the location of where the tribes would live.

  • God positions His army.
  • God has a specific location where you are to settle.
  • Settle there until He says to move.

Our times are in His hands.”  (Psalm 31: 15)  All the events and circumstances of life are in His hands.  Trying to manipulate them into our time, will only complicate things and delay His blessings!

There will be a time when that imaginary sheet will be removed and you will know the right time!

The right time is to “Trust Him at all times, O people; pour out your hearts to him, for God is our refuge.”  (Psalm 62: 8)

(Ecclesiastes 3: 1-15, Matthew 16, Numbers 1-2, Modified)
