A Diamond in the Rough!

While the world looked at you and only saw a worthless lump of coal, Jesus Christ looked at you and saw the potential in you to become something so much more.

While some are probably not familiar with what this statement actually means, my natural father was a gem stone cutter so I got to know all of the terms used by those who facet gemstones.

A Diamond (as many are aware) is the hardest stone in the world and is often used to cut other stones, metals, and hard substances, but it is also forged in the earth through enormous pressure.

If you take a virtually worthless lump of coal and place it underneath the incredible pressures of this life, it will begin to transform. Over time that pressure will change the entire makeup of that coal into the hardest natural substance on earth.

It takes a trained eye to be able to tell the difference between an uncut Diamond from that of an ordinary quartz crystal, but if you hit both of them with a hammer, you’ll soon discover very quickly which one is which. For the quartz crystal cannot handle the pressure that the diamond can endure.

Many of you are these Diamonds in the Rough! You’ve been fashioned underneath the pressures of this world and the circumstances of this life and (while it hasn’t been fun or pleasant for you), the Holy Spirit has used what the enemy meant for evil against you for your personal good.

“Fear not [there is nothing to fear], for I am with you; do not look around you in terror and be dismayed, for I am your God. I WILL STRENGTHEN AND HARDEN YOU TO DIFFICULTIES, yes, I will help you; yes, I will hold you up and retain you with My [victorious] right hand of rightness and justice.” Isaiah 41:10

“I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have [perfect] peace and confidence. IN THE WORLD YOU HAVE TRIBULATION AND TRIALS AND DISTRESS AND FRUSTRATION; BUT BE OF GOOD CHEER [take courage; be confident, certain, undaunted]! FOR I HAVE OVERCOME THE WORLD. [I have deprived it of power to harm you and have conquered it for you.]” John 16:33

While the world looked at you and only saw a worthless lump of coal, Jesus Christ looked at you and saw the potential in you to become something so much more. While coal burns very easily in the fire, a Diamond is completely impervious to the flames, and (in fact) all that the fire does to a Diamond is to enhance its brilliance in the light of its own flames!

God is fashioning the Diamond of your life this morning Saints of God! You may have only been a lump of useless coal in your own sight, but God is Transforming You into a Precious Stone! The pressures that you’ve been underneath for years weren’t placed there by God, but they’re being used by Him for your Good!

“As for you, you thought evil against me, but God meant it for good, to bring about that many people should be kept alive, as they are this day.” Genesis 50:20

You are more than the sum of what others have said about you and much more than the sum of the personal Perceptions of your own life. For God is fashioning you into a Precious Stone for His Kingdom which will reflect His Glory even when you’re thrown into the Fires of this life by others who can’t see your true value.

God is about to Unveil the Diamonds which He has hidden away from the view of others, but which is chosen and precious in His Sight! Get ready for you’re about to be put on display for all to see!
