A Desire for the Supernatural

Any reason to tap into this realm other than to pursue a relationship with God (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit) is dangerous.

This generation probably above every other generation has got to have one of the strongest desires for supernatural experiences and encounters above any others in history.

So many are desiring to see and to hear in that realm, far above and beyond all previous others. Whether that’s because of a simple desire to know that there’s life there, or for personal clarity, or because of a search for their destiny as an individual, the desire is really strong all the way across the board.

What many don’t know is that there are things in the supernatural realm that are beyond our ability to articulate or convey. Paul the Apostle tells of the fact that he knew a man that was caught up to the third Heaven and he heard utterances beyond the power of man to put into words (2 Corinthians 12:2-4), which man is not permitted to utter. So this realm is extremely real, but many are seeking this realm for the wrong reasons.

Any reason to tap into this realm other than to pursue a relationship with God (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit) is dangerous. While there are a great many mysteries in this realm staying within the parameters of relationship with Christ is the plumb line for us.

Many out there have tapped into this realm through other means, whether that’s hallucinogenic drugs, witchcraft, or other spirits, (all of which are very real), all of these pursuits will eventually end in disaster, because there’s only one way to get to the Father; Jesus is the Way the Truth and the Life and no man comes to the Father except by Him (John 14:6).

While the Bible says that in the last days knowledge shall increase and become great:

“But you, O Daniel, shut up the words and seal the Book until the time of the end. [Then] many shall run to and fro and search anxiously, and knowledge shall be increased and become great.” Daniel 12:4

While it doesn’t say what kind of knowledge is increasing, I believe that it’s natural and supernatural knowledge both. For while we are living in an age where we are being bombarded upon every side with the possibilities of having and exploring this realm of the supernatural, it’s important to keep our perspective as believers (centered) upon Jesus Christ.

Keeping Jesus as the first and foremost reason for everything that you do, is of paramount importance, as it is that relationship with Him, (the Father and the Holy Spirit) that needs to be our primary focus, and anything that would distract us from that goal should be strongly scrutinized.

So many things will try to take our focus away from that purpose (and relationship) in an attempt to keep us from being fruitful in the Kingdom. So focusing upon Jesus Christ will keep you from being caught up in any of the distractions of the enemy as well as help you maintain your stability in the Spirit realm.

Never forget your roots family, and where Jesus needs to be within your life, anything that would attempt to draw attention to itself and to draw you away from Jesus is either of the world or from the enemy. 1 John 4:1-3 gives us the ability to test what the source of every spirit comes from in case you ever need to do so.

Holy Spirit will always testify to and of Jesus Christ, He will always lead you deeper and deeper into your relationship with Him and He will never distract you from that goal. If there was ever a generation that needed greater discernment, THIS IS THE ONE! Keep your focus on Jesus folks and steer clear of anything else that would attempt to carry you off or away from Him!
