Is He Your Lord and God?

Allow Jesus to be your Lord and God.

And Thomas answered and said to Him, “My Lord and my God!” John 20:28

In the workplace, every person who is working has someone else who is an authority over them. That person is the boss and is in control. People do not always like to have someone as an authority over them, but it is a part of life. The amount of authority differs with each person. In some places, it is a hard dictatorship, while others are more lenient. It works in the same way with the leadership of nations all over the world.

John records that as Jesus revealed Himself, after His resurrection from the dead, to Thomas, he called Jesus his Lord and God.

Talk of who Jesus was and is, occurs all the time, all over the world, every year. The majority of the world accepts that Jesus was a real person, but that is all He is, just a person. Some believe that He was a good teacher and maybe even a good prophet.

In the lives of the majority of people, Jesus is just another person with no authority. This belief occurs because most people have not been able to see and understand who Jesus really is.

Believers have opened their spiritual eyes, just as Thomas did, and are able to see who Jesus is. Rather than being just a good teacher or prophet, Jesus becomes their Lord and God. Jesus is their Master, Ruler, the One who calls all the shots. He is also their God, the One who created everything and is in absolute control.

Thinking and believing this way goes against the majority of people because it means giving up one’s won rights and authority. It is handing everything over to Jesus as Lord and God.

Jesus is either Lord and God, or He is nothing.

You will have some people in your life that have some authority over you. None have absolute authority and control over you. When you see Jesus or talk about Him, who is He to you? Do not allow yourself to see Him as the world does, as just a good man.

Allow Jesus to be your Lord and God. Give Jesus complete authority and control over your life. He has conquered death, the impossible difficulty of mankind. He has created you and everything else. Give Jesus the position in your life that He deserves of Lord and God.

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will give Jesus complete authority over your life; that you will recognize who Jesus really is; and that you will let the world know who Jesus is.
