Who are You Looking For?

Seek to find out what He says in how to live the best life possible here on this planet.

Jesus therefore, knowing all things that would come upon Him, went forward and said to them, “Whom are you seeking?” John 18:4

While police are searching for criminals who got away or people who are lost, many people are searching for someone to give them meaning and purpose. Celebrities of all different fields and wealthy people are often searched for because they have made it, and others want to know how they can make it also. Others will seek out men and women of great wisdom and knowledge.

John records that some soldiers came searching in the garden where Jesus and the disciples were. Jesus asked them who they were searching for, even as He knew what would happen to Him.

The world is always searching for something or someone. They want to know more and grab onto what others have. As this occurs, there have been people who have risen to cult-like status, and false religions and cults have been formed.

Even when people find and are able to connect with whom they are searching, often they are left still wanting more. Those in this world cannot bring satisfaction or true life. All are still dead in sins and leading the dead into more sin.

Only one person can lead a person to a life and purpose that is true and meaningful. That person is Jesus. Unlike the soldiers who searched for Jesus to arrest Him, every individual must search to find Jesus and build a relationship with Him.

One must repent of all sin and accept the payment for sin that Jesus paid on the cross, receiving forgiveness and eternal life. As this is done, life is given a meaning and purpose that the world does not know nor understand. Without Jesus, there is nothing.

As you are going through your life you are probably searching for meaning and purpose. You may scour the internet looking for others who have made it so that you can learn from them.

While those people may help you temporarily, seek Jesus to find eternal purpose and meaning. Get to know Jesus as your Lord and Savior. Seek to find out what He says in how to live the best life possible here on this planet. Know that Jesus can give you more than any person can ever possibly give you.

Who are you seeking for?

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will seek to know Jesus more and more; that you will find purpose and meaning in Jesus; and that God will meet all of your needs in abundance.
