How are we assured in our walk and in our faith?
As I asked this question, I found four “Let us,” verses that answered what I was seeking. This is why I love God’s Word; it is so applicable to everyday life. I believe these exhortations are here to help let us come to the kingdom assurance and confidence to live by a new and living way. Lord knows how much help we need! Jesus opened up the way by His sacrifice. If He’s opened the way, we can walk through the door; He’s invited us in. Here’s what I found that brought great assurance in my spirit:
“Let us draw near to God with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith.” (Hebrews 10: 22)
- A sincere heart is an undivided allegiance in the inner being.
- Full assurance of faith knows no hesitation in trusting in and following Jesus.
“Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for He who promises is faithful.” (Hebrews 10: 23)
- Unswerving hope doesn’t doubt.
“Let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds.” (Hebrews 10: 24)
- Learn to motivate one another and recognize the good deeds of others.
“Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing.” (Hebrews 10: 25)
- The phrase “give up” in Greek is translated as deserting and abandonment.
Take note that the writer was telling the people that there was no turning back to the old system or old way of life. The new and living way was now upon them; as it is now with us.
God’s people must now look to Him.
The “let us” was a call to be unified as one body. This is an exhortation of serving and following together. That exhortation, even today, gives us assurance in our walk, in our faith, together as Kingdom builders.
KINGDOM PRINCIPLE: Let us hear what the Spirit is saying today and let us be assured. After we hear, let us listen.
